Boards of Canada

iuax from germany on 2001-11-11 14:21 [#00050447]

I heard from a friend of mine that Boards of Canada came out
with a new album, but yet when I searched the net to find
out information about it I got nothing. Does anyone know
anything about it? Is it true? I'll talk to my friend more
about it.

vi scose poise on 2001-11-11 14:42 [#00050451]

we're still waiting on the new album, i think the wait is
coming to an end tho... last i heard was itll be out
soon...

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-11 15:49 [#00050478]

I've actually been sitting in my chair for the last three
weeks just refreshing Warp's BoC page waiting for
information on the new album. I'm in a 2 foot pile of
feces.

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 15:52 [#00050481]

Now THAT is disgusting. 2 feet...

Taxi on 2001-11-11 15:53 [#00050484]

first quarter next year is what www.music70.com has to say
about it. Thats the official discography. There is also a
music sample from some unreleased stuff playing overtop.
Really quite lovely.

Taxi on 2001-11-11 15:56 [#00050490]

You know, I have a feeling that this album is going to
surpass the hype that it has been given.

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 15:57 [#00050491]

So do I, I have lotsuv faith in those guys.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-11 16:01 [#00050500]

MHtRtC is a masterpiece. One of the most solid albums ever
made. I just want to go to a big field in the country and
eat large quantities of psychadelics and...

Taxi on 2001-11-11 16:04 [#00050509]

And masterbate into the earth... I know. Its a great album.

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 16:07 [#00050512]

Haha, funny. Into the earth...
Maybe you can grow a sperm tree by doing that.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-11 16:08 [#00050515]

Yes, Ophecks, you can.

Taxi on 2001-11-11 16:09 [#00050517]

Maybe if you did it into the water, you would get sperm
whales.

OR into a fire? Burning sperm?

What about into the sky? Hair-gel!!!

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 16:09 [#00050518]

Wow! I'm going out back to try that now.

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 16:12 [#00050522]

I find when I wait several days before sex, my orgasms
multiply in size, and the volume of semen in my ejaculations
seems to be overwhelming. Like a sperm dam being bombed by
the taliban, it drowns the innocent.
I luv it.

Taxi on 2001-11-11 16:13 [#00050525]

Oh you bought that psuedo-spiritualist propoganda too?

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 16:21 [#00050532]

Yeppers, I'm so naive.

Dickweed on 2001-11-11 17:54 [#00050558]

"In a beautiful place" was OKay, but the "BOC sound",
sounded to much "Forced" and "constructed" on that
record.....

balthus from europe on 2001-11-11 18:37 [#00050572]

ok, i will get music has the right to children album on
monday or tuesday... a beautiful place is ravishing
beautiful. can't wait for the next album. GEMMA, check out
boards of canada. :°D

Loogie from UK on 2001-11-11 19:02 [#00050578]

Taxi: yeah, the swirling sound on the music70 site is great,
it reminds me of the joey beltram track "drome" off the
caliber ep, except that has a banging techno beat!

Ophecks on 2001-11-11 19:16 [#00050587]

I think Roygbiv has to be the most beautiful track ever,
even better than Lucy in the Sky. I kind of like Orange
Romeda, too.

SpaZpheX from PAlAcIlsuRRounDSouND on 2001-11-11 19:22 [#00050590]

It's worth hunting down the John Peel Session EP:
Aqurius, Happy Cycling, Olson - all good versions.
anyone out there ever listen to Peelie? UK BBC Radio 1,
2200hrs tue/wed/thurs.

Loogie from UK on 2001-11-11 19:29 [#00050597]

Peel rules... impeccable music taste for an old timer.

SpaZpheX from PAlAcIlsuRRounDSouND on 2001-11-11 19:37 [#00050604]

I love it when he does the prog from his house and you can
notice him gradually getting drunk on red wine as he starts
to mess things up and put things on the wrong speed!

cample from afxs dusters on 2001-11-14 17:00 [#00051971]

anyone remember their set at the warp lighthouse party last
november they played some new stuff then-even sampled a my
bloody valentine loop off loveless and slowed it right
down-jeez-at one point i thought i was gonna have a
religious experiance.

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-11-15 03:43 [#00052156]

I would give massive amounts of money and bodily fluids to
see BoC live. Stupid fucking United States god damn shit
mother fucking no fucking electonic ass music fuck shit
damn.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2001-11-15 03:48 [#00052164]

Hehe. Funny.

balthus from europe on 2001-11-15 08:33 [#00052234]

got the music has the right album yesterday... awesome!
aquarius now is my favourite on the album...

one two three four five six seven eight
yeah that's right!
nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen
orange
fifteen sixteen seventeen eighteen

the counting is so much like the counting in philip glass'
einstein on the beach (whereas one important thought is very
much like steve reich's variations)... but the album is more
relaxed than those reich glass pieces. beautiful album.

cample from afxs dusters on 2001-11-15 11:16 [#00052253]

amo roden bishop.

heavenly.

balthus from europe on 2001-11-15 12:31 [#00052259]

yes, despite of boc's music, a beautiful place out in the
country ep. still is my favourite by boc - it's ravishing
beautiful. cannot wait to hear the new album.

cample from afxs dusters on 2001-11-15 14:19 [#00052285]

yeah-it is the best-ive read in interviews that they're
after the perfect sound-and that ep resonates that idea. i
had a problem with the album for a long long long time, then
fell in love with it-the earlier stuff on skam rules as
well-especially 'see you later'. lush.

balthus from europe on 2001-11-15 15:02 [#00052296]

that's funny, i loved the in a beautiful place ep from the
beginning. well, boc said that they are after the perfect
track and also that they are trying to do music which one
would love immediately. it worked in my case.

cample from afxs dusters on 2001-11-15 15:10 [#00052299]

nah-it was the album i had 'issues' with-the ep i loved
immediately-in fact i heard it being played in rough trade
before it was out and was like 'feck-whos this???!!!' they
told me it was boards and was out on the monday. sorry thats
a really really dull story.

did you know that bob holness was the first james bond?-he
read out the scripts on radio fou...

STOP IT CAMPLE!! THESE NICE PEOPLE COME HERE TO READ
INTERESTING SHIT NOT DULL IRRELEVENT FACTS!!!

gggeeezzz guess i dont get out as much as i used to.

Andrew on 2001-11-15 15:15 [#00052301]

It's funny that you should mention Boards of Canada.

Eagle In Your Mind

I was just listening to it. It really is such a fucking
incredible song. So textually rich.

Some friends and I are considering doing an acapella version
of it. It's pretty tricky but we think we might be able to
pull it off. Thoughts?

cample from afxs dusters on 2001-11-15 15:19 [#00052306]

...or a chas n' dave cockney inspired version of orange
romeda-(with the theme to 'any 'ole iron' palying softly in
the background)

sorry, this is getting all VVM.

balthus from europe on 2001-11-15 16:35 [#00052368]

sorry, cample, misunderstanding of mine :^)

cample from afxs dusters on 2001-11-15 16:39 [#00052370]

thats alright matey-no need to apologise. just a passing
thought, but i wonder what rich & squarepusher will put out
