I had the worst class today, ever.

The teacher was 30 mins late. So somewhen went to his
office, to see if he came in today. Apparently he was just
in there chillin, and when the kid was like "are you coming
to class?" he snapped "yes, stop bothering me, ill be
there"

so he finally comes down, and doesnt even apologize for
being late.

Then he starts teaching us about the circle of fifths...
which you learn your FIRST semester, if you hadnt already
learned it in highschool.

And he had the most monotone voice... I feel asleep. My
first class, and I fall asleep.

Well, I was like, fuck this... so I went to the registrar,
and switched to a different teacher.

But unfortunately the only class that was open was monday
mornings at 9-11.

Which sucks, because then I have class from 11-1, and 1-2.

So I have a nice 5 hour morning block on mondays to look
forward to.

But I think its better then having this cock as a teacher.

Im seriously considering writing a letter to the chair,
because this is just outrageous. People like that shouldnt
be teachers.

Bah

sorry... just needed to vent

I can't remember a time that I complained because a teacher
didn't turn up, it was normally the other way round.

You should have gone up to his office and chilled with him
over a spliff or something...talk it all out.

I LOVE when teachers don't show. We made up an unwritten
rule, that if a teacher is 5 minutes late, everybody can
leave and do whatever . I used to HATE it when teachers were
4 minutes late and JUST made it before we were ''allowed''
to leave.

its your money, you dont have to show up if you dont want
to, and leave if you want to, the teacher will show up
whenever they do, and you will miss out on that "valuable
life-long information" that will make you a better
person....

errrrrrrrrr something.

Yeah that does suck. When i was in artschool there were also
a couple of teachers who would always come in late
(sometimes even like an hour too late!). No apologies or
nothing. And then they would just make the lessons last
longer. Go on until six o'clock or later.

God i hated that! Just show up on time and spend 10 minutes
on each student... then everything would have been fine. Now
i usually had to sit around until much too late, and because
my surname starts with an R (near the end of the alphabet) i
was always one on of the last ones who's work they'd look
at... grrr.

Usually they were all wonderful people though, not like
zeus' teacher as he described. They were all really great
and helpful... they just couldn't properly use a clock :-p

my opinion you start school yr learning goes abckwards, the
teachers have to teach by a standard that is ditacted to
them and its a load of crap, i found i unlearned the things
i knew and was taught a fucked up version of shit that was
allready in my head, i could read and wite before i started
school and the first day was something stupid like learn how
to write your name or some shit.
my brother put it best on his first day at school he told
the eatcher what she was teaching was obsolete and that he
wanted to use the computers. She asked him if he knew what
obsolete meant and he said of course and if you don't you
shouldn't be teaching.
I hated school. still do. i don't trust the syllabus.

give the guy another chance.

he made a mistake, who knows, he could've heard something
really bad, had something happen.

you don't know.

if he did this structurally, I could see the point of
complaining.

hahaha thats sooo true.

If a prof is 10 minutes late your leave, if he/she has a
doctrine you wait 15 minutes.

blah, attitudes like that annoy me to no end... "I'm so cool
cause I want to eliminate an organized education system so
we can all be big dumb stupid couch potatoes!!"

come on... the education system ain't perfect, but what kind
of system, that has to cater to a wide range of people, is?
We need some kind of system so every gets a chance to learn,
and so everyone does learn... high school is just the
basics... you get a sampling of math, science, english and
literature, history, etc... and it's good for people...
people need math, and english, and science... University is
the big thing... it's where you choose a field, and study in
that field based on how you want... you're not forced into
anything...

I know a lot of people hate the idea of an organized
education system, and prefer the idea of learning by
yourself... a friend of mine did that actually... he dropepd
out of high school, and learned on his own... but really, at
those ages in our lives, where we are in high school, most
people aren't mature enough, or have enough interest in
learning to do that... God knows I didn't... si yeah, while
it ain't perfect, the education system is still a good
thing... we need to learn!
