my roommate is selling an Akai MPC60II for 300 bucks... and
Im thinking of getting it...

the only thing is the backlight is dim, and the floppy drive
doesnt work.

Does anyone know:
1. if the drive is the same as PC ones
2. if the backlight can be replaced
3. if I can replace the floppy by myself?

thanks.

I guess you mean the drive..

Sounds like a reasonable price for an old piece of
equipment. Does it have multiple outputs? And how much ram
does it have?

Floppy disk is a PC compatible one.
Dim light can be replace, it depends of you and of a good
electronic shop.

If you get it, you might want to upgrade it to Roger Linn's
latest OS. It's the software from the MPC3000 and it
basically becomes an MPC3000 except that it's 12-bit, not
16-bit.

Check it out here:

I'm not sure I'd pay $300 for a faulty one.
