Hymn of a Man-God

prelude

I sit enthroned withing my sanctuary,
stone walls bare protect my body.
The human skeletons they hang head down,
and drip red rain upon my weathered gown.
Strips of sun-dried flesh, gnawed and swollen,
make up my feast, virgin juice my water.
I lie back within my luxurious throne,
commune with my guardians and them alone.
They bring forth the obediant serous meat
of sacrificial villagers, ever humble and discreet.
I place the halo - shadowed crown - upon my hair,
and lure the senseless to my shameful lair.

hymn

The Sun scorches land at my command,
The River floods the fields of crops,
The Wind destroys their homes.
I feed upon the Infant's bones,
I break the necks of babies,
I gorge myself upon the pregnant Woman's Womb,
I defile their sallow graves and tired tombs.
I stretch naked and grotesque,
I make life a cheap burlesque:
I am their God and their Corruptor,
they are unworthy of Contempt--
I shall not relent nor repent,
nor seek redemption, nor pity meek:
I shall exist for ever in foetid splendour
& chaos render. Surrender ! Surrender !

I like that a lot. Some of it's quite funny though, and what
accent would rhyme "hair" with "lair"? You posh bastard!

I quite liked it :P It seems a little disjointed in places
and the imagery isn't as powerful as it should be given the
language you use, but it is pretty good :D

That was really fucking good Marlowe. So dark and
disturbing. I do like that sort of poetry. plus some very
vivid images thrown in there too

thanks Lee and Murray :)

sean - I don't think Piracy was invented by the English :P
There were, for instance, plenty of Spanish and Portuguese
Pirates at the same time. And Piracy has been going on a
long long time !

I realize there were plenty of other nationalities involved
in the classic piracy, including the Dutch and French. My
anglophobia is in the broader European sense though. I dont
think i could very well admire the colonial nations of that
period for what they did to latin america. :P

I couldnt find Europhobia in the dictionary. Though anglo is
defined as any white, non-hispanic inhabitant of the US. So
i thought i could expand its meaning a bit, but if you say
so then I'm inclined to believe you.

Really - I thought Anglo referred specifically to
Angle-descended people! Unless you're just funning with your
definition ;)

that was the only definition of anglo that suited my needs
for expansion of the meaning.
