I think "Hi Scores" is pure BOC. The purest most skill most
goddam great BOC all jammed together. Oh and BOC at their
best I have to say I think are better than Aphex. I been
thinking this a lot recently what does the board reckon?

Hell no. The quality of tracks on it is just too good. I
think to be honest some of the tracks are so potent that its
almost exausting to listen to. I mean really they just have
that "je ne se que". I really think at their best BOC are in
a league of their own. And the consistancy in which they do
it. I mean for every BOC release you just get quality and
seriously impacting tracks. And just to think I poo pooed
them when I first heard them. Mad totally mad.

morguean,

Yeah mad completely mad. I remember listening to them and
thinking god this is so boring. Well I was listening to
Squarepusher at the time and to me he was the dogs bollocks,
well he still is. But you catch my drift. Lol.

Its funny my little sister is a complete BOC nut and
Autechre too. Totally into them more than Aphex and SP. But
I never appreciated BOC as much until literally about 6-8
months ago. Sad eh!

Hi Scores is very good but I dont think I would call it
their best. I leave that distinction to Everything you
do is a balloon.

"Everything you do is a balloon" is on the Hi Scores ep. I
am talking about the Hi Scores ep.

boc is great. any of their albums will do fine, although in
a beautiful place ep is their best work.
they make the only music i know of that i can listen to at
any time, in any mood, and love it.

Yes I agree. I think BOC you can put on any time and get
into it.

BoC is probably my favorite at the moment. i think Geogaddi
is the tastiest. all their tracks are so Thick. like they
crawl into my earhole and turn my brain into a milkshake.

like a fucking citrus flavored milkshake.

hi scores is indeed great... my favourite probably.

imo

I recently bought "In A Beautiful..." and "Music Has..." and
I'm really hooked to "Music Has...," almost every track is
just brilliant and works perfectly.

I got into BOC by listening to "Roygbiv," because that line
is so goddamned catchy.

god damn
Roygbiv is probably my favorite BoC track.

i always listen to it like 3 times in a row when i listen to
MHTRTC.

"i think Geogaddi
is the tastiest."

yeah, this cd gets seemingly little attention from peeps on
these boards (no pun). i like it best , all the BOC
ingredients used pecfectly=
sunshine recorder is a personal fav, and i think they use
the children vocals to greatest effect on this cd. I have
the triple lp edition and the artwork is amazing. overall
better than there others IMO. Hi scores is bum ting tho !

you probably mean "je ne sais quoi"

i like hi scores especially nlogax

it's def. worth seeking out "a few old tunes" and "old tunes
vol 2" on slsk

that's the big question. at least some of the tracks
definately are, and they're real crackers too, you can just
tell they're real boc

trouble is there's some dodgy versions going around with
mis-labeled and obviously fake tracks

The ones i've heard from there are pretty dubious but forest
moon is nice whatever really.

i think their best album is Twoism. Sixtyniner and then
Directine, played through a really good stereo system, are
immacualte and almost ghostly tracks.

Also up in the ranks for me are Turquoise Hexagon Sun,
ROYGBIV, Dawn Chorus, Kid For Today, Everything You Do Is A
Balloon, and I'm not positive if they're real or not, but
Buckie High, Spectrum, Forest Moon and Mukinabaht are
amazing songs from the demo bootleg.

everything you do is a balloon, june 9th and nlogax are on
this ep, that's why it's better than twoism and iabpoitc

IMO it is not theirr best but Everything You Do Is A Balloon
