in spain most of the movies are translated to spanish by specialists, and I tell you they do a great job, its hard to tell any diference between the spanish voice and the lip moves of the original acting do you watch movies in their original language or you see the translated version? I prefer the original version if possible |

here only cartoons for kids are translated, which is fine occasionally. i like to hear the originals in actual films, though. as most films are english/american anyway, it being good for learn english too, also. |

Being English I don't often have that problem. But out of the three subtitled movies I've seen I've still managed to enjoy them, particularly Amelié. To be honest, I prefer it this way, having some dodgy guy talk over it is very offputting. |

I remember Rza from the Wu-Tang saying in an interview once he would never watched a dubbed version of a Kung Fu movie, just watch the original language with subtitles "because when it is dubbed you lose a lot in the translation", I don't know if he realises but the sutitles are just as bad. :D! |

I always thought it would be a real ball ache to have to have to read subtitles, but I've found that with the foreign films that I've seen, after the first 10 minutes you dont even realise your reading them. Its quite odd. Devils Backbone - good foreign (to me) film..... |

If you're engrossed in the film, you're right - reading the subtitles is perfectly natural -- imagine having to watch a dubbed version of 'Man Bites Dog' god-awful I'd imagine |

I love Seven Samurai and that is subtitles. I actually think I prefer watching foreign language films with subtitles myself...except Spanish ones I can watch in Spanish and sort of understand what they are saying :P |

I refuse to watch dubbed movies, except for a few throw-away kung-fu movies where the bad dubbing is all part of the experience. |
