assuming you have study habits and are in school, is it a
negative thing for you to play music while studying or doing
work?
i'm wondering because i recently had a paper to write and i
listened to SAW 2 while doing it, and i go so into SAW2 that
i didn't do the paper. so now i'm fucked.

depends on what music you listen to and what studies you're
doing. obviously listening to ambient during something like
an art appreciation test is good, but probably not for math.
and blah blah blah blah, blah blah, blah blah, blah blah
blah. I say no.

can't concentrate on my studies worth a damn when i'm
listening to music.. music is too involving for me, and
putting it at lower volumes only makes me want to listen
closer

thats what happens to me.
i'm beginning to get annoyed by music though, if it isn't
music that specifically fits my mood.
i was browsing a record store today in georgetown and it was
nice and quiet and then suddenly this really annoying song
pumped in at really high volume. ruined my day.

georgetown.. shit i always forget how nearby you live. which
store? have you ever been to cddc? i've wanted to go there
but i've only been to smash! and various locations of
cd/game exchange.

dammit, i don't remember the name of the store now. i rarely
ever go to georgetown so i don't know the address or
anything. its a place my friend suggested i go to awhile ago
but i never went because it was always closed. damn that
song, ruined my memory.

actually math related stuff, basically anything with
numbers, I find I study it better with music... it's stuff
that requires a lot of reading and memorizing that doesn't
mix well with music for me...

Music goes so well with study for me, i don't know why. I do
really well in a maths test if I put SAWII on and study the
week before.

Also, I just had to do two poems about the masculine gender
for English, and I was listening to Tri Repetae. It helps me
get it done so much faster.

Almost like music's inspiration!

music helps me, as long as it's quiet and chilled. i dont
think i could concentrate on a garden design with snares or
pusher blasting out on volume 30

If I was still studying - yes

If it were Autechre - yes. I would never be able to
concentrate because of the noise! Hehehehe - sorry Autechre
fans!

as funkmaster said; depends on course and music. I always
put on music while studying, but it doesn't help me... on
the contrary it makes me less concentrated.
