or is reason that difficult ?? i mean, after 4 hours
working i still can;t figure out how to arrange patterns and
make a simple song... that's so fucked up. i read the
tutorials but nothing helped....

how long did it take for you to make something in reason ?

i take it u've looked at the sequencer?

there's a button top left, has three coloured bars on it ..
that changes the sequencer view from "arranging" to just the
one instrument - that's where you can then do your pattern
thing, your chords, beats whatever ... i'll try and get a
picture of the thing i mentioned.

-> eg redrum

the yellow thing at the bottom is where you arrange the
patterns (alternatively you can program the beats via a grid
etc.)

then click the topleft button again (back to the original
sequencer window), to copy/paste loops etc.

hehe, thaks mate. but i don't think this will be easy to
explain. i have 3 matrixes with patterns, and 1 redrum.

now, i want to make that first there plays one pattern of
one matrix, then the second, then the redrum comes in etc.

in fruity you just had to arrange patterns like small boxes.

i don't know how to manage this in reason.

i go to the arrange view how you said, get the pen and i
make a box in the redrum line... but that's not enouh... how
to make that the box will play ? that the small lines will
get into it ???

copy paste loops ? explain

erm .. i think you've lost me. incase you want to trigger
say matrix patterns from the sequencer just click some menu
bar - can't remember which, and go "add track to sequencer"
.. this adds a blank sequencer track, then just select what
device you want to control from that track ..??

offline korben dallas from nz on 2003-08-29 03:19 [#00841111]
Points: 4605 Status: Regular

to copy/paste loops you have to go back to the original
sequencer window (1st picture) .. then you get the pencil
icon, and colour in a box that corresponds to the loop you
want. select the box and copy paste the box.

re: changing patterns in matrix .. refer to redrum pic. see
the yellow thing at the bottom with the A1 .. you need to
get the pen and draw in the different patterns. when you
draw you need to select what pattern you want to draw from
the "A1" icon thing? hope this helps
