Nord Lead 2x Linky!!!

I was westling between that and a Novation KS-4 back in
March. Ended up with the KS-4, mainly because I got to
actually play with one and really liked it. Has vocoder, one
more oscillator and more effects. Good stuff on the NL2!!

Hey, if you know how to program synths and so on, I can
recommend the Nord Modular. The rack version, and to some
extent the keyboard version, have really come down in price.
The reason is that Clavia is coming out with the next gen
modular, the G2, in November. Some people are desperate to
get rid of the old.

I have both the micro and the full rack version and now it's
quite hard to think about restricting myself to something
that has a hardwired signal path. The editing can be simple
if you want, but you can also download patches that are so
full of wiring, you'll need a few hours to analyze them.
You'll need good MIDI connectivity if you want to run the
editor and a sequencer at the same time though.

Some other nice things are the vocoder, the step-sequencers
and the multi-band compressor patches for external
processing.

The modular isn't an instant performance synth like the
Nordleads are. It's more of a noodles type of thing. You can
do some crazy patching that turn out to final tracks all on
their own.

i also thought about the novation, but i have the v-station
soft synth, so i thought i should go for something a wee bit
different.

Hmm... tempting, but for £700 you could buy a Jupiter 6...
which'd still be worth at least £700 if you ever needed to
sell it.
But I'm a real analog nut.

well, i got to play with it today...and i was only planning
on spending £500 as a maximum.
but the sounds on it are totally jaw-dropping to say the
least. the sounds are completely pro.

Yeah I dig Nord's a lot... definetly my favorite VA.
I was thinking of looking for a cheap s/h Nord Lead 1
actually...
Got excellent mid-rangey sounds! Really unique pad sounds
and things.
Sits really nice in a mix too... unlike things like Absynth!
I love Absynth loads, but it's such an arse to get it
sitting in a track properly! Need to seriously go to work
EQ'ing that thing, always too muddy...

havnt played with a lead... but the modular is great

if they would support OSX i would have bought one... but
they dont... and wont... so Im gonna have to pass

great synth though

apparently all of Jegas album "geomatry" was done on a
modular

I've heard some people say that DiscoDSP's Discovery VSTI
sounds a bit like the nord. It can even import the Nord
Lead's patches...

See thats what students do. Jack money away on beer, high
living and goods they don't even need. Absolutely appalling.
Why should the state pay for University living and all?
There is just no excuse. Shocking absolutely shocking.
