YOUR AUDIO SOFTWARE

I use Digital Orchestrator Plus. It has audio recording, but
I only use the MIDI side of the sequencer. I used to have
Cakewalk Apprentice, which was even more basic, but it
stopped working when Win 95 came out. This was back when
Cakewalk was called Twelve Tone. I miss that little program,
I don't miss Win3.11 though.

I have all of the programs, but if your way of working isn't
broke, there's no need to fix it. I think that if I started
using Logic or Cubase SX, it would be another 6 months
before I was comfy with it.

i'm partial to a few no one has mentioned -

MOTU Digital Performer
Ableton Live
N.I.'s: absynth, reaktor, fm7,battery,tractor
Arturia moog modular
G Media oddity
the pluggo and destroy fx series of VST plug-ins
MOTU Mach-Five
Propellerheads Reason and Recycle

Then a Nord Lead 1 as the controller/hardware instrument

Finally it's all virtual - hardware samplers, drum machines
and keyboards are dying a slow death

and autechre uses digital performer as well they mentioned
it more than logic in the latest batch of promotional
interviews for Draft 7.30. it's good stuff. far more user
friendly than logic and it doesn't require that goddamn
dongle/i-lock key.
