Hello. I have £500 and yes, it will all be spend on music. So pleeease reccomend me some electronica albums.
To get an idea of what Im into, and I hate putting labels on things too, but I hope that you will spot some sort of pattern, or some common qualities present in my preferred artists:
I love quite "hard" stuff like Vsnares, Squarepusher, Aphex.
I really like more "experimental" stuff, like Leafcutter John and Faultline.
I also like more downtempo stuff like BOC, Remote Viewer, Murcof, and I love Brothomstates's Claro.
Basically most things glitchy, bleepy, hissy, crackly and electronic, with weird rythms and time signatures, and anything thats really difficult to program;)
Autechre are probably my favourite band ever.
I DO NOT like (most) of the stuff by Chris Clark, Plaid, Mira Calix, Astrobotnia, Red Snapper, Nightmares on Wax, Ladytron, etc. I also hate 4 to the floor beats very muchly. I do not like repetitive beats and I try to avoid stuff where a lot of traditional, or "acoustic" instruments are used. (I particularly hate the sound of the guitar and snare drum).
I apologise for the huge generalizations, but its the only way. Thank you very much.

You like glitchy beepy hissy crackly and electronic but you dont like Chris Clark? All those words make me think of Clarence Park.
This is hard... maybe Bogdan Raczynski - Thinking Of You... Do you want reccomendations from your named artists or new artists?

Thanks! Yes, I would prefer recomendations from new artists, not from the ones I listed. Hmm - Clarence Park - I admit I dont actually own it so I havnt heard it very properly, I will give it another go - judging from ceramics in the bomb its not exactly my type of thing. But thanks, keep them coming!

but seriously, folks:
fennesz - endless summer nobukazu takemura - scope (esp. the track 'icefall' -- i think this fits yr style well)
as for boc-ish mellow electronica, try christ's ep pylonesque
also you really should give chris clark's two full length eps (clarence park + empty the bones of you) a second listen.. sounds right up yr alley.

mum is excellent but if:

maybe not for you. it's almost folk-y electronica.. nice strings.. kinda lush.

"stengel" by sogar on list records. improvised waves of warm sparkly static and lights.
"brownout" by phoenecia on schematic records. dark shadowy liquid sounds grown in ae mulch under a 20 watt bulb, unique and absorbing.
"parts" or "solid state" by funckarma on dub recordings. cut from ae cloth but with a very recognizably individual sound, moody melodies and tricky programming.
"succour" by seefeel on warp. shadowy post techno with grit, actually largely played with filtered and tweaked live instruments. does use some repetition, though.
"scope" by nobukazu takemura on thrill jockey. whole compositions completely shattered and stitched back together in unpredictable patterns, and other similarly memorable inventions.
