let's say i wanted to move over to live amongst some of you
crazies. how would i go about doing that? what kinds of
papers would i need? just a work permit and...some other
stuff? i'm just looking into some different ideas i've been
toying with. this is one of the more interesting ones.
*shrugs*

a downer, though that is, it's an established country with
some history and character. something western north america
severely lacks.

part is just for the toursits. We still work and toil like
the next man wherever they are in the world.

England rules

I love the diverse weather conditions, the knowing that
there is both hugely urban areas and then gorgeous
countryside. The music scene (electronic) is more powerful
that has been in a long while. Yes you have to put up with
groups of people like Rudies but they can be easilly
avoided.

And we are not going to join the Euro

diverse weather?England is hardly up-there with the north
pole.

All IDM artists are most likely going to play here more than
any other place in the world as we are home to most of
them:

Aphex Twin (the most of Rephlex as well), Squarepusher,
Autechre (and all of Skam), LFO, Boards of Canada, Mu-Ziq,
Chris Clark, Mira Calix, Mr Scruff, Luke Vibert, Nightmares
on Wax, Plaid.

Plus there are festivals here like Deadbeat, All Tomorrows
Parties, Reading, Glastonbury.

i just happen to be moving over to the UK soon. i'm an
aussie living in queensland at the moment. moving to london
to work and hang out, then traveling in and out of there for
trips to other countries n shit. can't wait...

murray, what's a "Rudie" ?

i wanna see some of the electronica clubs when i get there,
many of you ppl go out to them often?

offline Murray from Southend, Essex (United Kingdom) on 2003-08-22 03:59 [#00832353]
Points: 4891 Status: Lurker

A rudie is a person (usually male) who will ask you for 50p
or a ciggarette and if you don't give it to him they get
pissed off.

Especially in Southend. I didn't give this guy any money and
he got a knife out and threatend to slit my throat. They
usually travel in groups. So this makes it alot worse.

extreme stupidity on the behalf of the human race.
