I'd have to say African Americans - as in when they where
slaves.... look at all the good music they created - blues,
jazz, gospel.... and blues and gospel essential where
building blocks for soul and rock n' roll..... and on and
on.

I believe I followed you correctly, eh, sir donald?

the british, definitely! they have always been a source of
many innovations in music... americans are more like
developers than innovators.

oh, and i agree that all great complex beats and rhythms
were initially 'imported' from Africa

though i think austria would be number two on my list.......
beethoven, mozart, haydn - the giants of the classical
period. they weren't all born there but many of them did a
majority of their work there.

Britain would easily be in my top 5 though. :D

england for POPular music
italy for opera
north-central european countries for classical music
africa (or african americans) for blues, jazz, soul, hip hop
...
america for rock and roll
