Thrash music as refreshment

After sitting at the computer for hours sometimes with
headphones on trying to programe a perfectly deluded
sequence of delayed snares to fit in with some synth pattern
that itself took a while to get right. Staring staring
staring at wav forms and splices and that noise my moniter
has started to make this eeeeeiiiieieieiei. . . .

Step out to the lounge room and start playing thrashed bass
guitar with a friend. Simple and fast rock punk songs like
sebadoh, nirvana, sonic youth, old favourite ones.

It is the perfect compliment to computer made IDM. Like good
white wine with fish.

I even played a pantera song then came back to the comp and
worked a few more hours on my latest 100bpm floating boc
inspired job.

All schoolchildren should be given a copy of Vulgar Displays
of Power by Pantera and a chainsaw.

whoa, my sediments dead on. I do it in reverse sometime
though, you listen to so much screamo rock, that electro
just resets my brain.

The pity is, there is no decent way to combine the two, not
yet at least.
