Least fav. Chiastic Slide track

my is nuane, the last track.. although i love this
albumn and every song on it this is my least favorite for
the following reasons:
1. When the albumn should climax with an amazing track,
it's kind of a let down.
2. That droneing synth sound gets on my nerves
3. It's the most uncharistaristic song of the rest of the
albumn. that might be cool, but on chiastic slide it feels
out of place.

that said it's still a good track and the second half of
it's pretty good.

anyone else?

i disagree, i think it's the perfect album ender for
chiastic slide imo. just like cipater is the perfect
opener.

the only track i still dont like that much is hub. the rest
is perfect.

i don't like the one so much that sounds like someone
shoveling snow..
it's an interesting sound though..

I love Hub. It's pretty disturbing sounding, and the cello
sound gets me.

this thread was kind of a dumb idea... i love naune .. LOVE
IT.... it's just my least favorite on one of my favorite
albumns of all time

i knew that alot of people would pick hub as there least
favorite....it is a strange track...but it grows on you

track 2 is the key to why the albumn is so great...theres
something about putting the strangest track so soon on the
albumn seqeuncing that makes it so powerful

Nuane? You're a crazy-man! I love the mutant hip hop beat
that starts it out... although, the synth work and melodies
leaves a little something to be desired. Can't beat those
beats though.

Hub is horrifying...

I can't think of one track on there that doens't fulfill a
role. That album is a machine, each track is a gear, it
wouldn't work if one of them was missing. Fu fu fu.

the 3rd track is amazing. Especially the distant piano. And
I love recury. Chiastic Slide is my favourite Autechre
release. When they were at their peak melodically.

The third track is amazing, i love the reverb effect on the
drums, it sounds exactly like when you move around on my
landing, it fookin rules

Easily rercury. Fucking high pitch tin cymbals hurt my
ears.

The two that I don't really like as much as the rest are
cichli and
calbruc.

I think for cichli it's just a matter of the melody, it's
just kind of wanky.

And for calbruc same thing. It's probably just a personal
taste kind of thing; mostly just the tone and attitude those
songs bring.

Nuane is the perfect closing song! It has the crazy,
heaviest beats of the album for the first half, then it
decays and falls apart into nothing for the end.
It's great :)

Again, just personal preference I guess.

jesus, god, holy shit, motherfuck. chiastic slide is the
most distant yet bone-chilling release by ae. i love this
album. cipater is masterpiece. rettic ac is the mossst
beautiful novelty item. tewe is boldly going where no cog
has gone before. cichli is , well sickly sweet, i love it.
hub is prolly the least favorite for me, followed by
calbruc. other than that, the whole album flows
beautifully, and i dig it. peak for ae. out.

p.s.
like ae took tri-repetae and shoved it through a meat
grinder.sausage linker, and called it genius.

recury is pure beauty.

one of the few ae-tracks that actually immediately makes me
happy!

yeah, qrter, you're right, and when that 'crow' thing
....brommhuhuhhoohoo!?!?! comes in, and reflects of the
backdrop bass riff, it sends extra doses of dopamine around
my cerebra and encircles my spinal cavities, instantly
topping off the most joyful of ae listening experiences,
know what i mean>

my feelings exactly... I love recury for a minute or so,
then it just gets so boring... too repetitive for me!

P.S. Nuane is AWESOME!! Shame on you guys!! ;)

ok... for the record i'd like to say i was smoking crack
early ...... nuane is amazing sick... some of the best
beats on the albumn... probably the 4th or so best song on
the album.... it's just that jet sound always annoyed
me....
can't say what the least favorite is then... every listen
brings something new...

Hub needs to be so long and repetitious to make the random
'growl' at 4:23 sound even more out of place and
freightening.
i love it.

yah hub was my least favourite too for a long while but
somehow i like it now :O the ending sequence is great.

nuane's ending btw is similar to draft 7.30's ending, is it
not? draft really does sound like an amalgamation of some of
their previous records, unlike chiastic slide, which was and
is unprecedented.

like someone said, it sounds as if it's going to be released
somewhere next year :)

I agree about Cichli... it's the weak link of the album for
me... not a bad song, but it keeps it from being PERFECT. It
sounds too crunchy and dirty, but not in the cool
machine-ish way that the rest of the album does. And it's
too jolly.

pule is the weakest track.
like yulquen on amber but worst.
anyway i think the best is recury.when that sound come in i
think is one of the best moments in ae discography.
it's music from another planet nobody is like autechre.

I love Chiastic Slide...it's what has (recently) just got me
into liking Autechre...

Least favourite? Not Hub, you fools, Hub is awesome.
But I'm a weirdo -- I think that Recury is the weakest. You
must all think I'm insane, but it does go on for way too
long and that classhhh sound irritates me to no end.

Oh yeah, Just bought Tri Repetae yesterday. That's great,
too. :-)

nice pussy toejam.

i have just litened thru it again..

cant decide.. it depends on how and when you listen to this
album.

tou have to be in the mood for some noise to start with..
also its gotta be played loud as fuck..
if its loud enuff you can walk into different rooms and hear
different things..
it takes the high end out and you can hear alot more of the
bass rythms.

anyway.. cant say what i dont like about this album..
i cant tell you what the neibours think either.. lol.. they
havent screamed out "turn that shit off" so they must be
dig'n it too..
ok im up to the last bit of the last song..
- - sounds like a rattling oil heater.. i have also heard
them use that drip drip noise from when you start up an oil
heater..

1.Hub

A friend of mine told me that this song almost made him
cry..

Personally I disagree; the song easily would fit in as a
soundtrack for a film about neglected and abandoned
machines..

Well, maybe that's quite heart-breaking anyway..
