I just changed the channel onto a childrens show and the
first thing i heard was:

"Poor tierd hat, i am the magic hairy elf, and i will make
some cheese for you"

I mean, what the fuck? What's the wierdest thing you've
heard on a child's programme? another contender was on an
old Pokémon episode where this was said:

*loud crash noise*
Jessie: What was that?
James: it sounded like some type of sound!

oh god - too many to list - that and my constant use of
marijuana lately has removed almost all of my previous
knowledge of television.

Teletubbies are awesome. i remember one trying to leave by
running around the pole in the center of their "house",
screaming "leaving! leaving!" and another running after him
around the same pole, screaming "stay! stay!". it was great.

I never saw that show.. but it does seem, sorry for
expressing it like this, retarded.
Some people can make good stuff for children, other fuck it
up.

Hehe, my brain hurts when I see the Teletubbies. The actors
must be on meths or something. How mellow can it get without
drugs?

there being interesting halfway funny cartoons and kid shows
on when i was younger, now everything for the kids today is
just stupid as hell..

Just watch the Teletubbies, that show says some of the
dumbest things I've ever heard. And it's scary too...

the ability to talk to pants!

and latrer on in the show

*silence*
Tommy: Umm...Chuckie, can i talk to your pants now?

songs for kids are ofthen also stupid...

there's an old song (written) for kids that goes:

"ser du apelsinen i gardinen"

it's fucking surreal... it means:

"can you see the orange [the fruit] in the curtain?"

Childrens TV shows shouldn't be about escaping reality -
they have no reality to escape from really (if they live a
safe/normal life).
They should learn stuff from watching... like old fables.
They're really sweet.

also another great one from Spongebob:

Patrick: Your not ugly Spongebob! here let me tell you a
story that relates to you. It's called the Ugly Barnical.
Once upon a time there was an ugly barnical. He was so ugly
that everyone died...the end!

Oh and something thats not really ment for children but a
cartoon none the rest, Calculon from Futurama summing up
Benders audition.

Calculon: Bahh! That audition was so bad i think you gave me
cancer!

Yep, I agree. I think most kids TV nowadays is absolute
dross and there's no way I'd park any child of mine in front
of them for hours at a time.

A technique used by the same parents who claim their
kids have A.D.D. and use this as an excuse for their
children;s shitty behaviour (read: "Parent's shitty
parenting").

I read an article in which the US military at Guantanamo Bay
said they were using the theme song from Barney to
psychologically break the captives.

What the fuck is it doing to kids then?

it's hurting them.

Yeah I heard about that. I know they've been using music for
years in a similair way to mentally exhaust hostage takers
(Money for Nothing by Dire Straits is one of the most
effective, I kid you not). They've recently used it as a pre
interrogation tool. Apparently childrens TV themes are
"culturally offensive" to the people of Iraq and as such are
effective for breaking them.

There's probably subliminal messages hidden within childrens
TV telling them to 'not question authority', 'consume',
'money is your God', 'love your servitude' etc., etc.

Pernicious and sinister? Or have I watched 'They Live' one
too many times?

He said probably...
mind you, I'd not be suprised if there was.

Bit like the American airforce landing choppers in kids
school yards. I can't remember the reason they gave, but
it's most likely to desensitise the next generation to
seeing the military on their doorstep to help prevent
insurrecitons...

whoa, I pretty much agree with everything said here, that's
ace.

I think the first post takes the cake of ridiculous kids
television, but how bout them Power Rangers, I mean, wtf?

I remember watching an episode of the teletubbies once.
Aside from being to scared to change the channel this is
what I saw: They played some video on there dumb looking tv
on the stomach, after 5 min it was over, and might I add the
video was mindless shit, like children collecting eggs from
chickens and other strange things, but after it was over
they yelled, "Let watch that again!" And you know what?
They played the whole damn thing again. then there is that
scary sun with the baby in it, it makes me want to scream,
it's no wonder there are so many murders here.
