i use soundforge to convert my tracks i've made to mp3.
however, when i save them as mp3's, there is a ridiculous
drop in sound quality.
anyone know how to avoid this?

You need to convert them to 128kb standard. If you've got
the old version of Soundforge I believe you can only do it
up to 55.

Just change the Bitrate in the settings menu when you press
save. Alternatively go to www.analogx.com and get the free
wav to MP3 converter. Verrrry easy to use and free!

yeah, there is a drop-down menu in the save window. i'll
usually do most of them in 192 kb

Why not save them as .wavs and use Razor Lame to convert to
your specified bit rate?

Uhhh... have you heathens even figured out how to do it with
Winamp?? Probably not... set your output to the encoder in
the Winamp prefs. Be sure to mind the encoder settings.
Laters!
