Can anyone help me with this problem:
On this new track I'm working on, everything is going fine until I render it. The box that gives the rendering details says the track will be 4.3MB and 1:44 long. Once I have rendered the track however, it is around 6.6MB and is 2:51, for some reason there is almost a minute of silence (after the 1:44 point). What the hell is going on?

you most likely have a stuck note or some reverb that is taking that long to die out.
you could also have an extra block placed on the playlist out of your view. scroll to the right to make sure this isnt the case.

Suppose I'll just have to use an editor to hack off the excess...

yeah - thats actually a common thing in floops - it will pop up at the odd times - not really much of an explanation for it - i suggest you just chop off the end in a sound editor
