After a short while (1-5min) connected to the internet it
says "Windows must now restart because the remote procedure
call (RPC) service terminated unexpectedly," gives me a
minute to save stuff and shut up shop, then restarts. I've
had a look in the event logger and it says:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: EventSystem
Event Category: (50)
Event ID: 4609
Date: 12/08/2002
Time: 00:36:40
User: N/A
Computer: HAL
Description:
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its
internal processing. HRESULT was 800706BA from line 44 of
d:\nt\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please

needless to say, the microsoft page was little help (no
info).

also, sometimes beforehand i get the message:

Generic Host Process for Win32 Services has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience.

with details:
szAppName : svchost.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.0
szModName : unknown
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

since i get kicked off the net every 5 minutes or so i don't
know how well i'll be able to see / reply to messages here,
but any help would be much appreciated. Thanx y'all. (I'm
using XP by the way)

Man we have ALLLL had this prroblem today...

Firrst go to:
Control panel
Administrive tools
Services
Remote Procedure Call (properties and then disable it)
