I really dig Ænima by Tool at the moment...fucking great

yes, great album!
(like all Tool albums... : ))

"H." always sounded strangely familiar to me, from the first
time i heard it. never found out why.

that's not from opiate, mr. :P

jimmy... always a favourite of mine. i remember buying it
when it came out (:P) and not liking the album too much. but
it paid off. they went over the top on lateralus, tho.
undertow is sheer power.

i greatly dig tool...

i feel that if maynard teamed up with an electronics
programming guru for those little blurbs of elect. tool
would be the best band in exsistance.

i'm sure that bill lieb or t. reznor has a programmer who's
contract is about due whom they can rent out to maynard.

maynard collabs with electronic and rock musician danny
lohner. 9/2/03 (US).

heh, i was hoping that something would happen. maynard was
at nothing for the longest time...and it looks like trent
will never release tapeworm (the live apc performance
sucked)

Aenima = the high point of Tool's career

Third Eye = the high point of Aenima

Excuse me while I bump this.

Ænima is better than Lateralus.
Lateralus is the worst Tool album.
The end.

This album never really hit me the way opiate and undertow
ever did.

I was into more than that electronically at the time.

but yes, Tool has definately had an impact on how I see
music as it is.

Aenima is pretty great. I like Jimmy myself - but the whole
album has an atmosphere to it that most metal and hard rock
albums lack. That and the music kicks fucking ass.

"I think drugs have done some good things for our lives, I
really do. And if you don't believe me, go home tonight,
take all your records, all your tapes, all your cds and burn
'em. Cause you know all those musicians who made that music
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
that enhanced your lives throughout the years? RRRRRRRRRReal
fucking high on drugs."

I had a friend once he took some acid
Now he thinks he's a fire hydrant
It's okay until he pisses on your lighter
Kinda smells kinda cool kinda funny anyway

satan, satan, satan...

I had a friend once he took some ecstasy
Tried to marry me and every one in the room
He was sort of loving kinda caring,
kinda tried to fuck my lazy boy
It got a bit messy all over the curtains,
arm chair covers, throw pillows, and carpeting

satan, satan, satan...

Lateralus is their second best album, imo. The older stuff
is much 'angrier' wheras Lateralus is more 'spiritual'.
Aenima was the best because it was both an "angry" +
"spiritual" album and it was also a Bill Hicks dedication
album (who happens to be my favorite stand-up comic).

it is great fun to play on guitar.

Tool is, in my opinion, the best heavy rock band ever. How
many bands do songs in 5/4, 7/4, 6/8, etc... and make it
sound fucking awesome?

Waiting the new APC with shivers

yeah the whole time signature thing about Tool is a super
plus...I know really hardcore musicians (jazz and stuff)
that don't like rock, but love Tool for their
experimentation in time. that says it all.

opiate and undertow dont even compare with Ænima and
lateralus, theyre on completely different levels. while
undertow and opiate are good in their rawness they just dont
hold up at all as albums like Ænima and especially
lateralus.

agreed machine of god
46&2 always sounded really familair to me: the riff is a
ripp-off i believe, not that that matters that much though
