Anyone else get these ads that LOOK like an error window,
but say:

"Your memory is not running at full capacity. Click here for
more info."

Why these bug me:
1) It's my computer. How do they know that?
2) Some of these ads obviously aren't error windows, and
seem to insult my intelligence.

"ooh, my memory isn't at full capacity? Better fix it!"

Grrrrrrrrr.........
That's my dose of bitching for the day.

You want to check for spyware. If you were running XP I'd
say disable the Messenger service, but no idea if there even
is such a beast on ME.

Nah they just part of the web pade xceque, they are just
done as an imagine set forward in the z-index using CSS to
look like pop up windows. That way they avoid pop-up
killers.

I had ME for a while. Worked better than 95 or 98 did in
the past. XP is best though

equally irritating are the "you have 2 messages waiting"
ads, the "if banner is flashing you are winner!!!!!!!!111"
ads, and "hit the target to get free stuff" ads.

I hate
FLASH
the ones
that are in the middle of a

read
and they cover up the
goddamn
motherfucking
content.

What I wonder is how those pop-ups that say your computer si
being watched know what version of windows I'm running.
Maybe we should all conspire to blow up the internet.

oh i had one of those today. actually i first saw it
yesterday, it was a horrible fucking cartoon of the typical
tortoise vs. hare parable, somehow related to internet
connections.

freaked me out too, because i was really stoned.

I have the solution:

Get a Mac.

tis quite easy to tell what's an advert and what's not,
since none of the fakes are OS9 or OSX look-alikes :)
almost funny to see a PC window on my mac!

When I had linux running on one of my machine I found it
amusing to. Most things look out of place on a mac. Just
give me linux/windows-all the graphic enhancements and
wothless features.

loud.......and you can't just scroll away from them!

shit like that should be illegal........ they're blatantly
LYING in ads like that

theres no way a pop up window could scan your hard drive and
know youre "not optimized", or that you have "incriminating
evidence" on your HD, or that you "have 2 messages waiting!"
or whatever the hell they're pitching at you..... isn't
that false advertising????
is the law the same on the net??

it's a good site and all.
but now I actually read the posts before it in this thread,
and realized it was very off-topic...
yeah pop-windows suck. bah

well. I am not into them at all. But the track which my nick
is 'based upon' - it's great!
not sure I've heard any more tracks by them.
Maybe, maybe not.

now it's Key's time for TV! :)
