 | I have noticed that people don't really ever mention these guys around here... I think they definitly deserve some more
attention. Funkarma is also known as Quench sometimes.
 they totally rock.

Also nobody ever mentions l'usine icl around and i can't
imagine why. l'usine is the fantastic.

oh btw funkarma got signed to warp so thats pretty cool i
 guess.

 | give em a search on soulseek and download anything you can, its bound to be great. also check out Quench and Cepix (i
 think thats how its spelled).

Funkarma is two brothers, Quench is the same two people, and
Cepix is just one of the guys.

 | having only heard quench "exclude" and the track from the "men with boxes" album, i definitely prefer the funckarma
material (of which i've heard a lot more, the first four
parts, the comp album "parts," and "solid state" as well as
 compilation tracks here and there).

i think funckarma were tagged early on as ae imitators by
some people and despite their talent they've been relegated
somewhat to the background. their skills have developed a
lot, and they've added details like voices and violin, but
stylistically they've stuck pretty closely to the "cut up
beats and long drawn out minor inflected melodies with
plenty of fx" approach whether as funckarma or quench.

 | i absolutely love LUSINE ICL!!! pretty well everything that fella's been doing of late is utterly brilliant!

for the time being however, i think lusine remains a rather
underground pheonmenon for "those in the know", so to write.
one of the main problems is the fact that lusine releases
on so many different labels and aside from getting his music
through say, soulseek, it's pretty difficult to come by in
 the shops.
the music's amazing enough though that it's only a matter of
time before the world catches up.

 | lusine is good. some of his works i got bored with but generally its nice. i liked "sustain" ep the most, though im
a sucker for the funkstörung mix ill admit.

as far as funckarma is concerned, i really dont find them
that special. i wouldnt necessarily call them an autechre
rip off or whatever they were dubbed with at first, since
they dont sound anything like them, but a lot of their
tracks were just uninteresting to me (minus a few).

lawk, zean, lolola off of solid state were my favorites.
also the song noir off the the expertise compilation (which
im on, actually) is quite nice, and just got re-released on
delikatassen i think. but the others just didnt do it for
me. its like they put a noise oscillator on their sound and
 bit crush all their drums.

im not saying they are bad really, because theyve made stuff
i think is great, they got obvious skilzzz. but i think they
 can get a lot better.

 least i hope so

 | yah i agree there. but funckarma are a great role model for us fellow dutchie music makers. they're about the biggest
idm artist ever to come from the lowlands.

btw l'usine gets mentioned relatively often considering his
popularity. he should release another full length soon,
 though
