Following on from Matt (Refund)'s thread...

I spent $250 on a Tool ticket on their first lateralus tour
here for a show in Melbourne; scalper was a fucking pain in
the ass but I didn't care.

Was worth every cent.

i went to see pat metheny twice in one week, once in
burlington vermont, and again in toronto. i spent a good
250 or 300 on those two shows, including transportation.

Heh, yeah, on that same tool tour I had friends that went to
up to 5 shows (although they bootlegged them all, which made
it worth it even more). Think they spent over a grand and a
half up each, including transportation/etc. Crazy.

What even irritated them further is people would take their
freely downloadable bootlegs, burn them onto CD, make some
crappy artwork then try and slog them off. Not only have
they seen them on ebay, but they've seen unofficial bootlegs
sold in shops for insane prices, and its definitely their
recordings.

What you get, I guess.

the city for $215, spent $20 on fuel, spent $100 on cd's
that day, $40 on manga, and $45 for the tickets to the
concert

great night though

NIN or Radiohead. it would be Bjork but i'm seeing her for
free.

concert tickets shouldn't be over $30; a lot of stage stuff
is truly excessive/bloated (look at U2). artists should
concentrate on the performance aspect, and if that means
trimming the budget, that's probably a good thing.

ticketmaster also needs to stop fucking people over! damn
monopolies..

heres an e-mail I snet recycle after the concert

the concert was pretty rad, they played a lot more loud and
lively than what
you hear on their albums, they had 4 guitarists, a drummer a
keyboarder and
2 guys on synth equipment, and no one guy was ever sitting
around doing
nothing for long, so it sounded pretty full, heap of
improvisation and
stuff, almost wish my minidisc hadn't broken down all those
months back, or
I would have recorded it, had a great night though, went
with two friends
and hired out a hotel room for the night, got completely
plasterd after the
concert, and stayed up listening to some old elctro jazz
cd's I bought that
day,.., but somehow avoided a hangover,

it was fucking great!!!!!!!!!!

I paid $60 or $70 to see Tool a few years ago. I loved it
at the time, they were my favorite band. I've sorta grown
out of them since, but it was still an enjoyable show.
