Has anyone seen it? I'm not a DJ/turntablist myself
(Traktor does it for me), but that dvd looks pretty cool. It
was a bit expensive though, so i'm not sure if it's worth
buying?

It's good, you could buy it and if you don't like it, take
it back.

theres some cool sets in it and a lot of history. it tends
to focus a lot on mix master mike and dj qbert. theres one
cool scene featuring Dj shadow at this record store in
california sifting through millions of records with midnight
ina perfect world playing in the backround. i dont know if
its worth buying because its one of those things where you
see it once and its cool but if you keep watching, it gets
pretty boring.. i'd try renting it or wait for it to come
on tv (where i saw it)

don't download it, buy it, it's a great documentary. the dvd
has hours of bonus features, don't be cheap. worth it for dj
shadow's speech on humility alone.

my favorite part was when mix master mike remixed the robert
johnson song, and when dj shadow was walking around the
basment of that record shop

That movie was great. Yeah the BASEMENT of the record shop
where SHADOW was, well it was fucking amazing....I loved it
too.

BTW, anyone know what TRACK DjKRUSH is playing when they
show a small clip of him live? Its more near the end of the
movie...I liked it, but have no clue what it
is...Anyways...Great flik!

I'll check at home.

did anyone see this last night on Channel 4 (UK) It was very
interesting. Shows a lot of the influences of people like
Shadow, Cut Chemist, Qbert etc and i learnt a lot of new
stuff. There was a clip Roc Raida DJing in 96 and he was
doing this amazing breakdancing style stuff and spinning
round while mixing expertly, it was tres cool.

i've bought it now. it's ok, i like it. lots of cool bonus
material on it, especially the "how to rock a party" clip.
if you watch carefully, you'll see the audiophile vinyl of
Drukqs on the top of his vinyl shelf. :)

i watched this couple of days ago for the 2nd time...they're
all good, but i think they think a bit to high of them
selves.

i liked the dj krush part...too bad it was so short...they
presented him like a new level in turntablism, which i very
agre with. he's awesome.

that part with dj shadow in that big storage is awesome as
well... it gives a great idea to people what music/djing is
all about.

all those other people (qbert, dj mike,...) are great at
what they do as well, but they kind of focus too much on
technique and not so much on the music imo.

i'm not big into turntablism, but i was really interested in
seeing this film because i heard it was great. i was kind
of disappointed with it - i didn't think it was such a great
documentary. i didn't find it very informative, and i
didn't really like the interviews. maybe my expectations
were too high...

but if someone is hardcore into this type of music, i could
definitely see how one would enjoy it regardless.

the coolest shots were those from various gigs, where you
see all those hardcore fans enjoying the show, and djs
having a good time...

Exactly how I feel. All these turntablists hailed for their
skill could never make an album half as good as Shadow.
