Due to the recent ridiculous and childish behaviour found in various topics, Im considering shutting down the messageboard until the rest of Xltronic is finished. Do you support the idea? How many adults here are becoming sick and tired of being talked down to by the management? I am. Why are we coming here? To be insulted and abused, for no good reason? Shut it down, I say. |

who says that this was directed to you? if webmasters/mods don't like something about the message board, which they pay for, because of what certain people are contributing, then they have complete right to talk down about it.. i really do not agree with the idea that we are being insulted or abused here, the people who are doing that are the flaming/insulting people that caused this whole problem to start, the people who this message was directed to. |

maybe i dont frequent the message board enough, but i honestly havent seen a lot of people "mouthing off at other people" for the sake of just that. just a few at times, but what do you expect, you know? its a message board and things like that will happen. most of the time the arguments that arise just come from peoples opinions. so i dont think theres anything wrong there. dont know i guess. as i said, i dont frequent here as much as some others do so maybe im missing something. but from where i stand its really not that bad. |

. i really don't think this message on the poll was really directed to the purveyors of occasional arguing, or disagreements in opinions, etc.. it's really most likely about the frequent name-calling, insulting, scapegoating, and just the general meanness/rudeness that occurs here because of some people.. i'm not going to name names.. but what bothers me even more, is, it seems like at the moment that someone shows any sign of being one of these people who cause trouble, or are unliked for any reason by the majority here, many more people swoop down suddenly like vultures to insult them viciously and unnecessarily for their supposed wrong-doings.. it’s really hypocritical.. just leave the rule enforcing to the admin, let them talk to whomever personally when they are on thin ice, instead of having you sink to their level and insult them back.. |

i agree there totally. i thought it was completely uncessary when people did that sort of thing that you explained about all in all, it still seems to me that this is more so an isolated problem. though, im not phobiazero so his annoyances are probably a lot differnet than mine ::shrugs:: |

How exactly are you being "talked down to by the management"? The troll-quotient of the board has been steadily growing over the last 6 months until it's getting to a point where it's hard to tell good-natured banter on random topics (which should be allowed) from pointless posts or flames (which are not). Personally I vote that the board stays up, the positive community aspect of it outweighs the downside of trolls and flames. Because the increase in crap posts has been gradual it's difficult to moderate: drawing a line between shit and acceptable is not easy and a gradual pushing of that line makes it harder, but eventually (like now) you get to a point where you realise you're fed up of it. Like a frog in gradually boiling water can't tell that it's being boiled. I think that if the board stays up (and that's Phobs descision) there'll be a crackdown in tolerance. So if you feel like you are being talked down to, maybe you should think about growing up. |

hey im just saying my opinion on this matter, i think there's absolutely no reason for shutting down the messageboard.. that would be a victory for people acting shit, or at least some of them. closing down is to give up a fight, which i think is rather untypical for the webmasters actions. i think communication should solve the problem. and hey, whats wrong with my name? you know, i've had it a loong time now, and i can't change it. there's no reason to go about the nick. |

If I knew when the site would be finished I may be inclined to say shut it down. it would filter out the assholes from the respectful regulars I think. But since it could be a long time I would have to say keep it open or just do some mass banning. |
