basically, it says if a woman says "stop" during sex, if the guy doesnt stop immediately... its rape. Now, Ok, I can understand it, and yeah, a guy should stop... but I do see it being a very delicate matter... I mean, how can you prove it? It would be her word against his. If they are already having sex, then there would be physical evidence that they had sex, but how can you prove that they said stop? I dunno... I just think it could lead to problems about false accusations |

no, sexual partners AFTERwards. the new definition of rape at some colleges is as loose as any woman having sex while drunk was raped (not sure if this applies to first timers only). but even by laxer definitions the same statistic applies. it just shows how pathetic some colleges are getting after a few overblown incidents. |

LOL@Bill. Maybe there should be a "2 minute finishing up time" rule that you can use before you have to stop? Yep, this is a touchy one... similair thing here... bit of a non-enforcable law though. What if your partner is into moaning "stop" (without actually wanting you to stop at all) during the proceedings? What about with a couple where one or more involved are a deaf and/or dumb person? It's hard enough to prove "normal" rape, let alone when sex is intially consenting and changes half way through... Even bruising or scratches on either party are not "proof" of resistance- they could be from (consenting) rough sex. As with most of our hideously outdated rape laws, I imagine this new one won't work if a man shouts stop... It's still not recognised that women can commit rape here, there is some other name for it and the term is a lot shorter. Moral of the story- don't have sex with psychopaths, people (ie, people who are likely to shout "stop" just to fuck you around or by a similair token, those who are likely to carry on when you're clearly in pain and quite definately want them to stop). |
