Me, I'm personally a street fighter/tekken/guilty gear man, but...
i played it on Gamecube. whilst i won't rate in above virtua fighter, dead or alive, i do think it's one of the better mortal kombat that's been released.
btw, they are releasing another MK on gameboy soon. I saw a preview in Game Informer, and the numbers were decent. So jump for joy!

I don't know.... I whoop some ass with the following individuals:
Bison (US version, the SFII version, not the pussyass alpha version)
Sagat Blanka (yes, blanka! you heard me!) Cammy Ryu (of course)
and if we're playing Capcom VS. SNK then also: Kim Terry Ultimate Rugal Hoahmaru Iori Rock Geese Nakoruru

yes, a lot of midway's recent material has been quite subpar.

It's alright....could have been better.
Improvements I would have made:
-More characters -Better/more fatalities -Stage/pit fatalities -Not killed off Liu Kang -Online play -more stufffs
I own it on ps2, it's cool but not awesome. 7/10

Has anyone played Shenmue for the Dreamcast? Not a fighting-game, though it's suppose to contain some fighting elements. I'd like to play that game. And Vib Ribbon for the Playstation ...

I would have made all of those changes, no doubt.
though I didnt miss liu kang.. there can be one fighting game out there w/o a bruce lee character (marshall law, forest law lu kang et al)
Quan-Chi's fatality? are you kidding me?! they're like laughing in our faces w/ that bullshit.. I dont know if that even is a fatality!!.. the kitana one was poorly done, graphically.. and the bo-rai cho one is laughable as well.. and the kano one looked like shit as well...
but in terms of fighting, pacing and the game's engine and the multiple (authentic) fighting styles.. that was really cool
the blood stains etc were cool.. and even though the whole franchise is over the top.. that was a bit much.. and when u didn't have it on MAX .. there was too little
the stage fatalities UGH.
one stage takes place in an erupting volcano w/ molten lava spilling out onto the stage, falling cinders etc.. no stage fatality
one stage was a platform flying through a valley and over mountains.. no stage fatality
one stage was surrounded by a moat of burning acid.. and 4 buddha statues that vomited acid onto the floor once u entered their proximity.. no stage fatality
and the fact that you could bet the money u earned would be REALLY cool ... IF THERE WAS ONLINE PLAY.. u had to bet the person sitting next to you in versus mode.. no thanks!
the sequel should take care of all of that... and it will be a better version of this game.. *fingers crossed*

The first game? It was pretty good 8/10. Not as cool as it seems. The 2nd one isn't as interesting, repetitive and alot longer....someday i'll finish it just for the sake of finishing the series..
