anyone here like skinny puppy? i've been listening to a lot of their stuff for like the last week or so. they have some really good songs. if you like industrial music, you gotta check em out. + does anybody know anything about ogre and cevin key getting back together for a new album? i'd really like to see that happen... |

Oh God yeah... classic stuff, and I'm even pretty fond of their last album, it seems pretty maligned though... I love Hardset Head. Addiction, VX Gas Attack, Assimilate, Two Time Grime, Smothered Hope, Incision, Facsist Jockitch, Worlock and its Beatle sample... probably my fave tracks by them. I want to hear Tear Garden, collaboration with Edward Ka'Spel, but I haven't had time to look into it yet. There's lots of Skinny Puppy offshoots and side-quests that I want to hear... |

it sounds really silly to say if you like industrial music then check skinny puppy out. if you're not already down then you probably don't actually like "industrial" music! :P i'd recommend BRAP 2CD set for the idm kids...i'm a big puppy fan but thats my favorite weird stuff from them. |

one of my favorite bands ever. I was just listening to Too Dark Park on the way to work this morning. Last Rights is probably my favorite SP album. then TOo DarK parK then maybe Rabies or something. Skinny Puppy has the most original sound in industrial music. It's almost not industrial. More accurately, it's hardcore gothic horror music. They are often imitated, but never equaled. My first SP album was Last Rights. I was in highschool at the time and i would listen to it while doing my calculus homework. jeez that was 10 friggin years ago and that album still doesn't sound dated. |

Much in the same vein as Puppy's Back and Forth stuff. many of skinny puppy's members went to start other groups. al jourgensen of course started ministry, and buzz mccoy started my life with the thrill kill kult. " Buzz or Al were never members of Skinny Puppy. Al produced some tracks on Rabies but by then he already put out several Ministry albums. |

I don't have much of their stuff - Too Dark Park and Bites. Too Dark Park is one of the few pieces of work by anyone that I'd describe as scary. Shores of Pluto indeed. |

skinny puppy fucking rocks, no doubt about it. the process is one of my favorite albums ever, hahah, to bad it doesn't even sound remotely like anything they'd ever done...so it's kind of like a separate category i suppose. but besides the process....last rights and too dark park are their best work imo. my favorite songs being....inquisition, the killing game, and spasmolytic. |

My favorites are VIVISectVI and Last Rights... And yes, cEv and Ogre are getting back together again. An EP (or single) is said to be released this autumn. An album is due sometime early next year... But it will most likely be delayed as always. |

I might possibly be Skinny Puppy's biggest fan. I would say that Process is the WORST Skinny Puppy there is (but it's still pretty good) I would say that Bites is a good place to start out. Rabies is great as are Last Rights and Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse. Well, I'd say all of it is great. cEvin Key is the greatest musician in the world. if you go to his website, you can get CD's from his vault that he's released over the past year an a half. It was the best $140 I ever spent. A little recap of what cEvin Key, Ogre and Dywane Goettel have done through the years. Pigface - Ogre did some stuff with them. I'm not a fan. Revolting Cocks - Ogre did some stuff with them. I'm also not a fan. Images in Vogue - cEvin Key was drummer for this Canadian Synth-pop band. I love them because it makes me laugh when I listen to songs like "lust for love" featuring the member of such a dark band. Tear Garden - Great stuff. This is cEvin Key and Edward Ka Spel. It's like Legendary Pink Dots, only better. Doubting Thomas - I really love this. It was just cEvin Key and DRG, and they only released a CD and a single (The Infidel and Father Don't Cry) but they are really, really good. Hilt and Flu - These were really really bizarre. I listen to them, and I can't figure out what genre it's supposed to be, whether it's serious or not, or how I feel about it. It's like a puzzle. Download – my very favorite! Download is my favorite band ever! Brilliant stuff. The band members vary, but they have two distinct styles, with Mark Spybey (Dead Voices on Air) or without. I think I prefer without but the early stuff with is spectacular too. Download III is the best CD ever. Ritalin (or RX) This was post-skinny puppy Ogre and Martin Atkins. Pretty weird stuff. Ohgr – This is post-skinny puppy Ogre and Mark Walk. Pretty good stuff (not as good as post-skinny puppy cEvin Key though) cEvin Key’s Solo work – brilliant, although not exactly solo work. My buddy bought Dywane Grotels SY22 from cEvin key like last year. They had an auction or something. ogRh is great. I hear the new album blows but the one with all the Dog Gerbals on the cover is great ... WEL! thats what its called. Each album sounds way different then the next. I would say listen to Rabies, bites, Remission, and Too dark park and you'll be al set. |

Are you sure you are not confusing it with III Steps Forward- the last album? Because III the most godaweful download album ever followed closely by Effector PLATEAU "Music for Grass Bars" and "Space Cake" is far more experimental and challenging than either III or EFFECTOR. PLATEAU is well worth checking out. Also HILT is truly brilliant and visionary stuff. Sublime Mix of Rock, Psychedelia and awe inspiring electronics that puts the likes of Radiohead and such to shame. And this was all done well over a decade ago. "Journey to the Centre of the Bowl" is an incredible album and it veers from sweetest pop to Nastiest electronics, fluid styles pulsing and shifting all over. Mr. Bungle fans ought to take note. |
