I'm starting to lose the ability to tell where one starts
and another stops

They definitely had to weed through some retarded tracks.
Why do people submit junk like that?

but yeah i also see your point.

Yeah yours definitely should. It's like better than any of
the ones (ehh or maybe that maphive mix) played up there.

Hmm, I've been listening to this stuff for almost four hours
now and only heard about three or four things that I'd like
to hear again. I'm yearning to hear something with a bit of
life in it.

offline Skink from A cesspool in eden on 2003-07-27 19:57 [#00796073]
Points: 7483 Status: Lurker

I've liked a few more than that but i agree.

offline dariusgriffin from cool on 2003-07-27 19:58 [#00796075]
Points: 12426 Status: Regular

Yeah, I think most of the remixers are trying too hard to
sound like Autechre.

Points: 47414 Status: Moderator

I quite like this one.

people mostly forget that softer sounds can be much, much
stronger than the.. ehm.. loud ones..

I like the subtlety in this one.

offline dariusgriffin from cool on 2003-07-27 19:59 [#00796080]
Points: 12426 Status: Regular | Followup to qrter: #00796076

Yes, I like this one. It sounds a bit like something you
could do.

Yeah i'm getting in to the whole textural thing at the
moment so i liked that one quite a bit.

Points: 47414 Status: Moderator | Followup to dariusgriffin: #00796080

I guess thats why I like it.. :P

no but really, I like it when I can hear detail in the
sounds. and that one had it.

offline qrter from the future, and it works (Netherlands, The) on 2003-07-27 20:01 [#00796085]
Points: 47414 Status: Moderator

and those more detailed, or as you say Skink, textural
oriented tracks are what I missed in The Chosen Fifteen.

offline xceque on 2003-07-27 20:02 [#00796087]
Points: 5888 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

I'm all for subtlety, but all too aften it gets lost in
drabness. Most of these are starting to sound the same to
me.

That said, this one on now is picking up a bit. After recent
others this sounds positively exciting.

offline Skink from A cesspool in eden on 2003-07-27 20:03 [#00796088]
Points: 7483 Status: Lurker | Followup to qrter: #00796085

yeah i agree it would have been nice to have something
textural and sprawling in the top 15.

"Most of these are starting to sound the same to
me."

and I have the exact same sentiments towards the Top
15.

I am at least hearing more interesting stuff in here. within
180 tracks most will not be that great, I guess.

offline Skink from A cesspool in eden on 2003-07-27 20:04 [#00796094]

This one is really pissing me off and it's gone.

Slip yay!!

I don't like the synth line going over the top of it very
much.
