Your going to have to tell me a couple of things first, do
you have a midi keyboard?

I didn't have until a few days ago, so i can give you
directions around the sequencer if you have to hand program
stuff.

i wouldve suggested you start with fruityloops as your first
music software

reason is quite difficult for beginners

Yeah i'd agree but i started with reason it took me a while
to get used to it but that's only because i had to hand
program everything up until recently.

i do own fruityloops. and i kow how to use it to an extent.
its just that it keeps locking up if i add to many mods or
reverbs. so i just stopped using it.

I didn't find the manual very useful but i think that's
because they didn't go into editing bit enough which is what
i needed because i didn't have a keyboard at the time.
