Alive In Japan

previous concerns about sound quality no longer an issue
due to use of high quality Sennheiser HD280 headphones

new results: amazing

he does some fucked up shit... changes the music a lot more
than what i first thought, cus it was hard to hear clearly
before

i love all the crazy noises that he opens the show with.....
and the way a few times, especially in The Exploding
Psychology (2nd track), he slowwwwws things down until the
synth tones sit there wavering........ then BANG! the song
blasts in at full squarepusher speed

but the way he messes around w/ all the parameters...
sometimes the sounds will go backwards, the whole song will
shift up and down steps in pitch, and lots of subtle changes
for individual sounds.. it really demonstrates how intricate
his music is and how much of a madman he is

I agree...there's waaaay too much reverb. It sounds shit
compared to most cd's imo.

I'd love to see him live thouh. Shame I'm 17 :(....stupid
age restrictions!

i thought there was too much reverb too until i listened to
it with my new headphones.....

like right now, im listening to it on my computer speakers
(which aren't bad as far as computer speakers go) and it
sounds like theres way too much reverb

with my headphones all that reverb just makes it sound like
youre THERE, and the music itself is clear

the biggest letdown is just how minimally the tracks are
changed for the purposes of live peformance with this gig -
it honestly just sounds like he opened up winamp and played
a bunch of his own MP3s. i've heard far better bootleg live
stuff of his than 'Alive in Japan'.

if the material was more improvised and he added his
bassplaying to it, it would've been sooo much better and
actually worthy of releasing.

i have a pair of AKG K-66 studio monitor headphones
(absolutely ace for the price I paid for them - CAN $65 -
and they are actually intended for specifically
production-oriented purposes - i highly recommend them!
crystal-clear sound quality!)
