i just came back to glass:
music in contrary motion:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000059GGN/qid=10593
( 80233/sr=2-2/ref=sr_2_2/102-1303886-7941721 )
Phiz: it's really cool you've seen dracula live, i've got
the cd for years now, but still haven't seen it with the
movie. Other minimal strings are, for instance: music for
amplified violin by glass and (of course) violin phase by
reich
another favorite, also not too original, but what the fuck,
is rachmaninov, all the preludes and etudes, great melodies
and virtuosity.
minimalistic in length and notes but very complex in theory
is some of the work for violin by webern: that's
mindblowing
to name but a few

CS2x - http://www.digitonal.com

;o)

classical electronica. start with come and play and
snowflake vectors...take it from there. more to come.

anyway, whilst i'm here, and so this isn't just a plug...

Monteverdi - vespers 1610 - the genesis of everything i love
in music.

Vaughan Williams - fantasia on the theme by Thomas Tallis -
simply the most beautiful piece ever imho...

I love the New World Symphony too! I love that amazing,
powerful theme that keeps returning...Someone should do an
eletronic remix of it, seriously!

Vaughan Williams did Antarctica, which was also beautiful.
By the way, I'm enjoying your music, dtnl.

my stuff is quite lyrical, loads of strings with tight
electronica beats. some of it is pretty dark though. We
did an album, 23 things fall apart on Toytronic records
which should still be available on CD (try smallfish or
sister ray)...and we're also recording for Seed records. It
varies from pure classical (overline) to Steve Reichy
minimalism (drencrom, carcause) to dark soundtracky electro
(black box) to playful, Morr/CCO style electronica with a
string quartet (snowflake vectors - available on the Seed
records sampler).

i see you're london based. we're playing a free concert
outside the National Theatre this wednesday night. come and
check it out. we'll be playing our more beaty material.
