if you are a patient fellow, willing to sit through an album
many times before you come remotely close to understanding
it, then i would recommend confield... other fantastic
releases on your list are as follows: Lp5, Windowlicker,
Drukqs, Selected Ambient Works 2, and 85-92

don't bother with the Analogue Bubblebaths until you've
heard all of James' releases under the Aphex moniker (as
opposed to Afx)... and seeing as how you are in canada...
and all of these releases can esily be found in north
america... why are you ordering from Boomkat? you could
probably save yourself some money by going through a north
american distributor like www.forcedexposure.com?

a lot of these releases haven't dated a second since they
were released immho

richard d james album is good... so i care because you do...
they're sort of essentials and while ppl might say they're
overrated i enjoy them nonetheless.

as for autechre, i think your list is fairly well-decided.

i went to boomkat because i WAS unaware of a north american
distributor and it is $10 cheaper ordering from boomkat than
getting it from a store here. and thats including airfare.
ill check out forced exposure

Don't overlook the bastard children Chiastic Slide and EP7.
CSlide seems to have been disowned by AE themselves and EP7
is more than just some sidestep EP... pick them up, love
them, give them a good home.

hmm.. i checked out forced exposure and ive got to say that
they have an impresive ONLINE catalog and a crappy OFFLINE
catalog (how can ne find their shit!?). it only saves me a
buck or two as oppose to ordering direct from warp or
boomkat. meh. a bucks a buck. and i want to keep as many as
possible
