haha. ghostbusters.

i hate people that whistle really loud to really annoying
songs on the radio, because i never have the heart to tell
them to shut up.

well, it depends on your definition of "post-educational."
i've taken plenty of music courses.

i did an ND music tech course...it included circuitry - like
making your own oscilator and headphone amp and that, music
theory, music bizness stuff and of course computer
technology in music - aswell as recording techniques,
production etc...they made the huge mistake of introducing
me to Cubase, Vaz, etc...My world of bodging walkmans
together and crappy tape recorders to multi-track was turned
upside-down and I spent two years making tracks on the
computer day in day out...failed the course, but what I
learned by myself on the computer was invalueable - and here
I am 4 years later still making my own stuff and gigging and
that...it was like a legitimate way to do a hobby 24-7 and
avoid working!
so yeh - go to college, sponge off your parents, fail the
course, but come out smiling! :)
(that doesn't help at all does it?)
;)

yeah, I go to a music college... Im doing a duel major in
Synthesis, and Composition.

I was doing Synth and Film Scoring, but for a # of reasons,
I switched to Composition.

Is there anything you wanted to know, or where you just
curious?

haha okay carwash that sounds fun actually.

zeus: i wanted to know which schools/courses are good - but
then again i don't even know exactly which course i'm
looking for so it's kind of a retarded question....

what exactly do you do in composition?
and what college are you at?

as for what schools are good... it really depends on what
you want to do.

all classical?
jazz?
electronic?
modern(ie rock/pop)

in composition, im first learning counterpoint, and
traditional tonal writing... and classical, and romantic,
and atonal, and 12 tone etc

basically its "classical" music. we also have jazz
composition as a sperate major. and songwriting (like... pop
tunes)

and im at Berklee college of music. its in boston. its first
and foremost known as a jazz school (probably the most
prestigious) but it also is well known for its modern stuff
(ie rock/pop, and music production and music synthesis
courses.) but it also has classical composition, and while
its probably not the best in the US, its damn good. Its just
that most people who go here, arnt interested in classical.
