 | For a period, I got heavily into more fucked up Venetian Snares and Squarepusher material.

But I've realised, having 7/8 beats spinning around with
loads of changing effects and crazy noises is getting pretty
old for me now. I just want some good old melody! The last 6
or so IDM albums I've bought have all been really noisy and
lacking in an easily recognizable melody. I think it's time
 to go back to basics.

 | I just like shit that pumps like rough dnb. Sometimes nice melodies are really what I need though, buit I still liek a
lot of programming, but not harsh programming, beats that
make you jump but are still followable and still have heaps
of (little) alteratuions and details if you lissen for
 ''em.

 That's my thoughts anyways.

 | I've been really into more ambient music as of late... not pure ambience really, but ambient with nice chilled beats...
I just love a good ambient melody... it's amazing how a
couple notes repeated can be so yummy sometimes!

 | Yeah ambient music is enjoyable. But I wish all my favorite artists (Ae, Squarepusher, Aphex etc.) would give up with
trying to be as madly fucked and complex with noise and
beats. I was enjoying it, but enough is enough imo. Let's
get back to melodies, chord progressions and so on...maybe
in a new light? Why doesn't someone explore that area of
music? "Noise" has been done to death now.
