Listen to my tune "Fannki" and tell me what ye think. It's a little funky piece, nothing special, though a happy tune. ^_^

it makes me think of a chipmunk off his lunch, stumbling around, looking for a place to toss his berries.
he stumbles into an old friend who was having a really good day, all smiling and full-on chipmunk whistling. they catch one another's eye in the park and then the first chipmunk blows all over the other's furry foots.
that's what i think of your track.

_user, "The third step from Dancemusic" sounds as if it could belong to a NES-game. Eerie-sounding Nintendo-music.

I think it'd be good if the beats got more funky. The bassline is nice and funky but I guess what one is looking for is for the beat to be a bit more funky.

I didn't really like it, it didn't get me moving or really involved in the music
I did like the pad thing over the bass line, that almost made up for the drums, but you didn't play off it more than the one idea and had it come back later
The drums don't fit together very well, not tight. Compression, verb, something could help tie them together to make it sound better.
The drums get a lot better at the end, I agree with the other posters, playing on the drum line some more would add quite a bit I hear a lot of stuff I've heard before, bass line is solid but uninteresting, drums are flat, the panning on the snare is too obvious and too much for my tastes.
It's hard trying to give you a review when I don't know what you're going for, and I try to be as honest as I can. I think this is good groundwork, you have a feel for beats, and the bass/pad selection means you have a pretty good ear beyond that... but you have tons of polishing to do and need to work on your transitions a lot. The piece doesn't flow very well, but it's not choppy
Eh... ask questions if you want, hope that helped

On second thought, I need to go rockclimbing...
I listened through lazer, I like the loop it starts out with, with the white noise dropping out into the punchier sounds, looping that and playing with it could be really interesting...
Reminds me of music from the really older electronic crowd, especially the first few space oriented TV shows that incorporated this kind of music. I'm not very good at reviewing this sort of thing, you'd have to explain what you were going for, would help a lot... and I'll check back tomorrow or the day after when I get back from Squarepusher

Great comments, Sanguine. I'll see what I can do. Remember, though, I only made it for fun, "nothing special" as mentioned.
