 | I normally burn CD's at a rate of 40x or 48x. I am working on my own album and had burnt a couple of copies (for use on
different systems) and noticed a couple of problems.

I noticed extra sounds like glips blips and whatnot that
dont show up in my acidpro or anyother program i am using.

These sounds are fucking up my CD. Is it because i am
burning at a higher speed? Would something like 4x be
 better?

 | supposedly 2x is the way to go, but i can't recall the technical explanation i was given. since my burner can be
unreliable, i never burn at 2x, but the fastest i can burn
 is 12x.

 | When you burn at a high speed the "pits" formed by the laser in the dye on the cd-r are shorter than when you burn at a
low speed. That could account for your glitches.

My copy of Nero has an option called audio master qr that is
supposed to make an extra-reliable copy with longer than
usual pits. Not sure if every copy of nero has this or if
it's unique to my Yamaha burner.
