Shadows, part 1 - pretty moody, lovin it. some of the sax sounds a little mechanical, but i think that's how u like it. Those Ellade drums are really well done :D the dist-snare doesnt spoil it either. keeps moving from section to section, keeping us all interested. Chogo Ri - hehe, squelchy bass - i normally avoid them, but sounds good here. nice big chords, make my headvibrate with the bass. cool detuned ending. Karakoram - really like the start, the pitched tabla-like sounds are really fitting. nice weird frequencies in it, nice and insecure at the end. Camp VIII - feels like im space exploring, was surprised by that major chord ending - like u said. Murtlegraziaspang (alpha airlines mix) - builds up really well, i think. reminds me of ur organ tracks a little :) not too keen on the bit that comes in at 1:15, but does sound better when u modulate it. A Short Hop to Nowhere - wish u'd make more of that organ :) more trippy panning from the pfs! definately gets better near the end, after about 50odd seconds. Didnt hear WaveChanger being used did i? ;) Inside Outside Inside - loving all these pitch shifted guitary sounds, and then legendary dist-bassdrums. really like the change, after the voice has been played at half speed. the instrument playing those chords is really nice. R.T.D. (extended version) - sounds like the music to a mario64 level, but unfortunately my least favourite track of this lot. like the bit at 3:33 tho. 131 bpm - definately grows on me, where's "maybe the human race deserves to be wiped out" from? they're all good, infact most of them are better than that. all staying on my harddrive and in my playlist. a CD wud be great *wink wink/nudge nudge* |

karakoram: Nice atmosphere, very dark. I like the part @ about 1:10 where a sort of vibraphone al of a sudden shortly changes from minor to major 2 or 3 times. All the sounds used in this track seem to match well with each other. What starts at 3 minutes is a very good alternation. A moment of rest followed by sine tones, a nice ending. Chogo Ri: It didn't like the beginning. Not that it's bad, the sounds just aren't my thing. But then the change at 1:25 is wonderful. Nice lay-back drumbeat, I love the way you switch between minor and very small major parts. Nice dramatic part with the church organs and the dark bass. 131 bpm: I didn't like the beginning much but the speech part is very cool. After that it only gets better and better, untill you've reached the climax. I was expecting for another (even better) climax after the last vocal part but all of a sudden the track stopped, a bit disappointing. inside outside inside: Most of the sounds were annoying and the melody didn't do it for me either. RTD: " " Camp VIII: again, very nice dark atmosphere. Nice flangered beat. The song made me think of dying and would be placed best at the end of an album. The major ending is perfect. It has a certain sense of accepting. |
