 | href="http://www.brookmays.com/prod_disp.asp?itemnum=031060 I bought one of today from a friend for
 £40.00.Its a nice simple guitar,well known brand.I thought
it was a good price.I love the desinctive Fender sound.
Theres one flaw,colour....Its bright red!So i'm gonna have
 to get a paint job.
Does anyone have a rough estimate as to the price of a
 simple black paint job?
Also I need advice on buying a decent amp,for around
 £100.00....
No this isn't my first guitar,I have others but I've always
 wanted a Fender...

 | I tried cutting and pasting your link, but it's still broke. Is it a strat? A candy apple red strat with a white
pickguard? Cause if it is, and you paint it black, I'm a
kill you. A red strat is just the sexiest thing a man can
 put his hands on.

 | I still have a 20 watt Peavy amp which cost £40 second hand about ten years ago, I don't rate it much tho. Sound is
iffy, and I had a Fender copy at the time. I've had a 100
watt Marshall for ages so I dunno much about amps any
 more...

 | I played a fantastic amp the other day, can't remember wtf it was.

I mean, decent loud heavy metal amps, for a good 'un it's
usually £400 plus. I was lucky, I got a good amp for £100,
then got to watch the seller spend it on lsd and stick them
 to his eyeballs.

 By the way:

only play it in the day.All I need is a small quite one for

 | i want to get a new guitar soon meself... i have a Godin Radiator now (black)... and a Vox Cambridge 15 amp
i dont remember how much the amp was at the time of
purchase... i think around $300 dollars i guess that would
be around 150 pounds, but maybe the price has gone down in
teh years since i got it

its nice for the price... it has a tube in the pre-amp, so
its like half-tube half solid state
sounds really good... the tube definitely makes a difference
in teh sound... and getting a tube sound is rare in this
 price range
HOW ever.. the distortion is not very 'hard'... you could
never play metal on it, but its great for stuff thats not as
hard, usually older stuff, but also radiohead actually
it lets you be more dynamic than solid state too... it
distorts more the harder you play
the other bad thing is theres no reverb, but there is a
 tremelo

anyways if you can find it used it would be a great amp if
its the sound your looking for
i did lots of research when i got it and lots of ppl say its
really good.... thats gotta count for something

check out harmony-central.com for anything youre considering
