at least advance is. thats the only one i have

Is this their new single from the new album? Are the two
back together or is it just Mark B. ...or is it only Gez V.
?

"Frequencies" is otherworldly - there is nothing else like
it in existence.

"Advance" is good, but I've heard it before....countless
times.

We're talking about Lyte Funky Ones right?

Yeah!!! I'm SUPER GAY! It's pitiful that most of my
friends have heard of LFO (Lyte Funky Ones), and haven't
heard a lick of the real deal.

Frequencies was one of the few (there are less than 5),
albums that I fell in love with upon first listen. It
sounds like the soundtrack to a dance party in the year
2025. Everyone is wearing freaky robot-like outfits with
lots of colours, and the party is taking place on a giant
skyscraper rooftfop. There are neon signs everywhere, and
hovercars floating by.

lfo - frequencies is the best old skool techno album ever

it was rather uncommon at the time for such artists to get
album deals, i think it paved the way for electronic artists
to be taken far more seriously than just be one-hit wonders.

yeah deffinately, it was a seminal album, one responsable
for the 'birth' of 'idm'

I saw that on ebay. There's a couple of things in there that
I'd like, that I don't already have. Too bad they're not
being sold separately.

And 'seminal' is definitely a word you'd have to use for the
early LFO stuff. Frequencies is one of the most important
albums of that time. I know the word 'important' gets
bandied about in a fairly meaningless abstract way, but you
know what I mean.

And it still sounds great now. Well I think so.

otherwise.

Advance, I seem to remember, got a fair amount of bad press.
Or at least indifferent press. But I really loved it. Some
really nice things going on in there, and it's not really
like anything else exactly.

Man I am so bad at album reviews.

i did a soulseek search for "lfo sheath" and i actually got
a result.. one user claiming to have track 1 only (i forget
the name, it was one word)

did you read joyrex's review on watmm? looked like he was
blowing smoke up mark bell's ass, for realz.

No, I think Freak is really that good - can't someone voice
their OPINION on their own site without taking flak for it?

just thought it was worded a little funny considering you
never covered lfo on the site before, never mentioned lfo on
here, etc.

I think that the absence of any new LFO material since 1996
would explain the absence of any recent LFO coverage :D

of course but no mention of tour dates or anything.. i mean
it's nitpicking, no doubt, but it just caught me by surprise
cos i've literally never seen joyrex ever mention lfo and/or
mark bell.. so it almost seemed like a manditory "give the
legend his praise" kind of thing even if he does genuinely
enjoy the single

"lfo - frequencies is the best old skool techno album ever"

"nobody listens to techno!"

I've listened to Mark Bell a long time... just because I
didn't do a site on him doesn't mean I don't like his music
or think he's worthy of such praise.

I like Brothomstates a lot too, but never mentioned him
much...

ok fair enough.. sorry for giving you a hard time, you'll
have to take my word for it that i just found it unexpected.
have you heard "butterslut" and "whistle while you jerk"?
i'm waiting to hear them but i feel like i'm their godfather

hahahah

*hums whistle while i jerk* to the tune of snow white and
the seven dwarfs......ahhahahha

FREAK was AWESOME! omg....i just wanted to dance my bootie
off.....and then maybe play a video game
after.......ahahhaha

it was lots of fun and i'm sure there's gonna be a mega
monster dance mix that comes along for disco's to keep
people dancing for 30 minutes straight.

GREAT JOB LFO =0)
