By definition, the rarer one would have less copies. Since they stamp out the final cd to sell many copies, the test pressing would be more rare. (but I've never really heard of a test pressing...)

Well, depends on what's ON the test pressing - some test pressings include early/unavailable tracks that don't make the final cut or are modified before the actual release.
A test pressing can be rare if the actual release never sees the light of day (like in AB5's case).
