bogdan raczynski / samurai math beats: yum yum. its got to be orange... ya, anyways i just heard of this guy recently and listened to the album. i was very impressed by it. since all of ya'll are probably familiar with his stuff, can you recommend any other of his albums that are just as good, or any other artists that are similar to this kind of stuff? |

samurai math beats is the only album you need from Bogdan, the other shit is just garbage (maybe Boku, but it aint worth it, download some shit from mp3.com artists for free insted, its just as good). I love Samuraic MAth beats though, its a classic but his other shit is rubbish like Bombs over IBiza and My Love I love etc |

Bogdan is grrrrrrrreat!!! I have Boku Mo Wakaran and Samurai Math Beats.... thinking of getting Thinking of You, Ibiza Anthems Vol 4 and myloveilove. There isn't much out there that is similar to Bogdan, though I have noticed that some of the melodies on drukqs are sorta Bogdan-esque. Ovuca's Oncelments is excellent -- i plan to get Wasted Sunday. I remember a track on disc 1 on Onclements that sorta sounded like Bogdan, but i don't remember which one...... Did anyone know that Bogdan almost died once? i think i heard something of someone slipping a mickey in his drink....... By the way, Bogdan, to get on Rephlex, sent them 6 different demos from 6 different countries under 6 different names... and when he came to England, he had no money, 100's of cds, and was wearing clothes that were morgue donations. So he almost got deported..... And Ovuca was discovered thru porn. A Finnish porn ended up on Rephlex's bus, and they dug the soundtrack, and Ovuca to send them stuff. So he sends three demos credited to someone called Rachel Thompson. One was tape hiss, the second, record crackle, and the third, ground hum. And Grant was like "Anyone who sends this to a label HAS to be called up." When they call him, he is drunk and naked in the arctic circle, looking at the northern lights with AFX's AB3 blasting at full volume. Grant asks "Where are you?" He says "I'm in Lapland right now." And Grant thinks "yeah, he's the man." Boy, it's amazing how much useless crap about artists we musicians know. :) |
