oh alright. i just downloaded NESticle and i'm playing Ninja Gaiden on it. Kicks ASS!!
Is there any way to configure your controls so that every time you start up the game they stay the same? i hate reconfiguration every time.
plus, the save state isn't working. might i require a patch or utility of some sort?

I HATE Nesticle, mostly because of the dismembered hand cursor! I use FCEU, RockNES9x, and sometimes Nesten. Yeah, I like to shake things up, I can't decide which is best and I kind of randomly switch preferences. For Genesis, I use GENS, for SNES, I use ZSNES.
You can configure your controls and they SHOULD stay the same... save states are standard issue and you shouldn't need a patch for them.
Do you have a controller or are you using the keyboard?
And Ninja Gaiden is so fucking great... awesome music and graphics. And the cinemas used to amaze me! The new Gaiden for Xbox looks awesome, but I'm skeptical as always... ''next gen'' 3D Contras have destroyed that series' reputation. Though Shattered Soldier was 2D and pretty damn good...

the best emu for megadrive(genesis) is genecyst. google search to find it easily. its dos, so might be a problem for XP?? works fine on 98(like most stuff) and has lots of good features and high compatability with games.

Yeah i ditched NESticle. I'm actually using FCEU right now -- WAY better. Plus it helps that it saves control config and saves individual states for each rom. And the sound, graphics are better. :-D
Thanks for the tip - I'll check out that GENS soon. I'm using a keyboard by the way and everything's working now. NESticle just sucks - like you said!
Right now, I've got: SuperMarioBros. 1-3 Castlevania 1-3 Zelda 1-2 Ninja Gaiden 1-2 Contra Kid Icarus Final Fantasy I DragonWarrior Punch-Out A Boy and His Blob Metal Gear (!!!!!!! :-D) Kirby's Adventure Rygar Tetris (Elorg version - sweeeet) Ghosts n' Goblins Megaman 1-3 Bionic Commando (underrated!!)
