µ - Z i q wins easily for me. just so much more emotion. hasty boom alert is a fabulous tune and a godd example of his work. i like much more µ - Z i q than Autechre, i just think Autechre are a bit too cold, the only tune i really like of theirs is eutow. |

I love Autechre, but IMO they just can't equal the brilliant and beautiful melodies of µ-Ziq that make me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. I agree though, µ-ziq and autechre are two entirely different kinds of music, and two entirely different reasons for listening. |

depends on your view. autechre make very fucking unique music; that's just it, you can't compare them. any genre you try to fit them into is just too damn vague. given, u-ziq do rule in their own way, in a big damn way. i enjoy their music, but again, in a completely different sense. why do you even NEED to compare music? you can hardly contrast experiences from listening to u-ziq and autechre; they're nothing even like each other. |

the thing with ae is you either 'get' them, or you dont. and i think a lot of people, if not everyone would 'get' them, if they only tried, but most people give up. they aren't the most accessible of artists, yeah, but that's not a bad thing. to me, and to many others i'm sure, autechre are untouched by anyone else in the electronica/'idm'/whatever scene, and µ-ziq barely even scratches the surface. |

There is nothing wrong with stating your preference. If you had to give up either µ-ziq or autechre for the remainder of your days, which would it be? This is a perfectly valid thread IMO. I couldn't give up my µ-ziq. |
