Ulrich Schnauss is nothing like Arovane or Autechre, but
closer to Boards Of Canada and not entirely unrelated to
Royksopp.

every time i'm hearing it it sounds better and better. Far
away trains passing by is absolutely stunning, and will
surely appeal to you if you like BoC and arovane. Especially
Monday - Paracetamol is LOVELY. Go buy it. Now!

Yea... umm... I dont know about some these comparisons. He
kinda has his own thing going. The BOC/Arovane comparison
thing I can see though.
All I can say is that it's a required purchase. It's been
in my cd since it's been out. Wicked stuff =)

Yeah, I think it's a wonderful album, if you can get your
hands on it definitely do so.

Check out the song 'Clear Day' for a nice sample to the
album.

I found a radio segment that is dedicated to Ulrich
Schnauss, as well as other good artists. It's a feature
segment that lasts about an hour, anyway if your curious to
what he sounds like go to this address and click on the
'Ulrich Schnauss' link.

And if you have heard his stuff and like him, be sure to
listen to it as well, for there are a few unreleased tracks
on there. The 2nd song they play which is a remix for an
upcoming release and it AT LEAST deserves a listen.

i think his music is very different from most electronic
artists, including boc, arovane, ae. to me ulrich schnauss
is lighter, airier, with a pop music sensibility similar to
latter day cocteau twins. but i think that there is a very
good chance that you will like the album.

when i just got 'isolated place' i also thought the first
one was better, but given it a million more listenings, i'm
convinced the second is better than the first.

Ok, I was just able to get that remix he did of Justin
Robertson. It's VERY good, and I've been desperate to get
my hands on it after hearing it off of that radio station.

Anyway, if anyone is interested let me know, and I can
probably pop on slsk and give you it.

Do check out Manual's latest release, "Isares EP". It's the
best piece of music that was released this year. Well, in my
humble opinion that is...

(oh, and by the way, it's called "Dordtenaar" ;-))
