Does anyone else see similarities between SAWII and Brian
Eno's "APOLLO"? Sometimes it sounds like Aphex Twin has
actually stolen from this record

Well, SAW2 sounds extremely Eno inspired, but I don't think
it sounds any closer to Apollo than any of Eno's other
ambient stuff.

Yes, there are quite a few guitars on Apollo... used in
moderation, though. Killer album. Deep Blue Day is one of
my favorite songs ever.

deep blue day was one of the first eno songs many for many
listeners i think and its one of his best if not the best.

killer song in killer scene from trainspotting.

i would mainly thnk of white blur as eno-inspiration. eno
differs a lot but may have been inspiration as long as
inspiration is not copying.

yeah, on land and apollo both could easily be seen as
inspirational to saw2

I was listening to Apollo the other day...

It does seem to share an uncanny resemblance to SAWII -
almost like they were made to fit together.

they are very similar indeed...the minimalism, and the
colors the melodies portray, just like eno's idea for
ambient music

cept one exception

ENO OWNS AFX!

"ambient 4: on land" is awesome!

i only recently just slsk'd it into my life and i love it..

if you like saw and this sort of eno i recomend you download
some "shuttle358".
most of it is nice drone/tone sort of stuff, great for bed
time.
