safe choice. but then the whole album is safe. with the exception of the hideous the gloaming.

I doubt they'll ever release a proper electronic track as an A-side. Smart move really, especially since the majority of Radiohead single buyers prefer pre-Kid /Amnesiac Radiohead. I think. Just guessing. Sounds reasonable though right?

i think you're both right. theyre gonna choose a radio friendly track to promote the album as much as possible, and i think theyre also trying to appeal to fans they may have lost from the previous 2 albums

you don't like The Gloaming, Netlon? i love it... =) do you like Backdrifts?
only song i still don't like is I Will (i like even Sail To The Moon now), though it's not as uglily artificial as Motion Picture Soundtrack...
Go To Sleep is a great track, definitely! Where I End And You Begin or Scatterbrain would have been more likely single-making tracks imho, but Go To Sleep is a good choice too.

hey that's opinions for ya :) i like backdrifts ok, but nothing special. i love the two last songs, but they're so old skool radiohead. the tone of the album (ooh the world is so bad and depressing) kinda bores me, that's my main issue with the album. otherwise it's a solid release

spamsixtynine > dunno, it is just a question of taste! i guess people find it beautiful... i just don't, to me it is like a sticky, bittersweet and nauseating black stain on an otherwise very good album (and i don't like children either - children, family... always brings ugliness to me... also one of the reasons why i have mixed feelings about BoC maybe with all this childy stuff - i hate down-to-earthyness and willing for security having a family etc. etc., as in No Surprises, and when he mentions kids in HTTT... and Karma Police, i hate the lyrics to Karma Police, even though i like the music of it. reminds me of political stuff about insecurity etc... police everywhere, controlling everything, 1984, abuses etc. and everyone accepting it)
i didn't like 'exit music (for a film)' a lot either (i think Kid A and Hail To The Thief are better than OK Computer in general)...

yes that song is kinda bad..
very pearl-jamish and incomplete.
like at the end they didn't know what to do with the song.. jonny tried a solo but ended up playing half-a-riff... and the way the song fades-out at the end is just plain wrong.
