Massive Attack Live

So.... there's a Massive Attack concert next week in
Istanbul (where I currently am) and I'm thinking of
going.... except as far as I am aware, MA currently consists
of only 3D (Robert Del Naja). I'm not sure if any of the
other members'll be coming and if the concert will suck cuz
of it. You think it'd be worth it?

I saw them here, last week.
on the Werchter festival.

I didn't really like them...
Dot Allison 's voice doesn't even come close to Liz Frazer's
(teardrop). She had to stop singing for breathing too much
(I am reasonable) and her voice... I think the song only
works with Liz Frazers voice.
The opposite happened with unfinished sympathy, with an other
singer. that woman's voice was too strong.
or let me put it different: she raped the song. She screamed
so loud that I couldn't even hear the music behind it.
I don't have a problem with long and loud solos, but this
was ugly!

The lcd screen with visuals is worth going
or Horace Andy, who sings a few songs.(Hooray for Horace!!)

I might be a lil' too negative here.
I watched and listened 'till the end, which means they
didn't suck too much to make me leave (wish I didn't cos
they ended with the murder of unfinished sympathy ;-) )

The show was okay.
just okay. nothing more. nothing less.

If an 'okay show' satisfies you, then GO!

Sinead wasn't there.
Dot Allison performed special cases.

Update: I went to the concert in Istanbul last night. It
was a very cool show. They were wicked, I thought. I was
about 3 metres from the stage. They played a lot of
mezzanine and 100th Window and some older stuff.

The visuals were very cool. A huge LCD sceen with
statistics on world military spending and generally a
terminal and "computer code" theme to the visuals. Most of
the statistics were in the local language, Turkish, so I
missed some of it when it went by too quickly.

You know, there was even a therumin (sp?) on stage, which
the keyboardist and 3D operated/played at times.

Maybe not a very poignant review by me, but the show is
worth seeing.

i missed out on them here in adelaide; their tour was
promoted fucking terribly, i know a fair amount of massive
attack fans, and nobody knew about it until a week later.

we sure were pissed.

Hey LeCoeur: Yeah, Istanbul is a very cool city. I've been
living here for the last 9 months, but I'm moving back to
Toronto in a week. I did see the show and wrote some
comments in this thread. It was a great concert.

i went to the brisbane show, its by far the most superior
gig i've been to. and ive been to shitloads... i thought dot
allison was fantastic, daddy g was also there, and supreme,
the singer that sings on unfinished sympathy is actually the
original singer back from 89
