dunno, you tell me, I haven't heard enough of them(him/her?)
to be able to judge that. Btw, where is Sigur Ros from?
Norway?

to be quite honest, i know just about nothing about sigur
rós. except the music is beautiful, and i can't get enough
of it.

and they play their guitars with bows, sometimes. it looks
so good, it looks like it sounds good:P

sigur ros means victory rose, i *think*

it's jonsi's little sister's name.

favorite track though, is track 8/the pop song off of ( ),
the live version of haffsol, and milano. just amazing live,
all of them. ( ) and Ágætis byrjun are both so beautiful,
it's too hard to decide, though leaning towards ( )

Sigurós is an icelandic name. Jónsi named the band after
his sister because the band was formed on her birthday.
Sigurós means Victory Rose (Sigur Rós)

i have to say, when they are good they are spectacular...
but i don't feel like they've really explored to much ground
this far... there are some really awesome standout tracks on
both albums, but i never feel the need to listen to the
whole album through (in either case)... some of the tracks
just don't assert their individuality at all in my mind...
here's hoping the next album is wild and adventuresome...

Ágætis byrjun is possibly one of the worst albums i have
heard. the strings are tacky as and i really am not into it
at all.

on the other hand () is seriously my favourite album of all
time. it is beatiful, the songs are masterfully crafted, the
production/and sound if full, rich, organic.
i love every second of that album (even the 45 secs of
silence in the middle :) ).

von sounds much more noisey and drone-esuq and experimental
than the other two from the small amounts of it that i
heard. they also have done a soundtrack to a film about the
homeless in iceland as well as a soundtrack called angels of
the universe where they contributed 2 songs(i think). they
also have a recycle album (remixes) by lots of other people.

i think that agaetis byrjun has their best songs. i was
kinda disappointed with their newest ( ), it didn't seem to
go anywhere new for them. though the last song was pretty
damn good.
