Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts

This album deserves a topic!
It's just amazing.
One of the most beautiful albums I've ever heard!
It sounds like Slowdive on the ancient synthesisers of
Tangerine dream, like Sigur Ros and Múm together, playing
with Thompson twins samples.
like Air meets Styrofoam.
like endless sublime landscapes covered with snow...

Pitchforkmedia says:
"Simply put, this album sounds absolutely huge, its
relentless attention to detail eclipsed only by the stunning
emotional power it conveys. For fifty-seven glorious
minutes, an impossibly intricate tapestry of buzzing techno
synthesizers, distorted electric guitars, cheesy drum
machines, and subdued vocals generate a sense of bodily
movement through a landscape of beauty, disappointment,
glory, and decrepitude. Dead Cities is an album that not
only envelops you, but affords you room to explore its vast
expanses of beautifully constructed sound."

track 3 is beautiful....so excellent....run into flowers i
think? I want to do a rock cover of it....rest of the album
was so-so to me...but that song makes up for it.

the only problem is that its on the brink of heavy
cheesiness, theres some definate cheese in a lot of the
tracks but nothing too bad, the good moments are definately
amazing though, great stuff, with the cheese aside.

"Gone" is a beautiful track. I named it my favorite song
that other thread. That song is pure sex.

as far as i can tell this hasn't been released in the united
states...

is this correct?

i can't afford to buy any music anyway, but based on the
buzz over this album i'm very keen to hear it.

This album finally did get a release in the USA with a bonus
disc.

Anyone who likes DCRS&LG should really check out the latest
single from it - "America." It has a track that was only
released on the vinyl version of the album and 2 great
B-sides.

That's weird, Moby vs Air sounds a lot better in practice
than it does on paper.

Rascal! That must be it, since it sounds nothing like Moby +
Air.
